Easily bruised?

I was never one of those kids who got bruises. I could hit myself in the shin and not get a mark. And I'm 15 about to turn 16 and its been that way up until about a week ago. Every little thing gives me bruises. My friend grabbed my wrist, not that hard, just joking around and i got a brown bruise from it. I bumped my knee on a desk and I got a black and purple vein like bruise. And I have them on my hips from bumping hips with friends and on my back, shoulders, legs and arms. I'm getting them faster than overnight and they do hurt when they get touched. I'm on birth control but I don't think that has anything to do with it and I've had allergies for a week or so...Should I be worried I am going to the doctor next wednesday for Allergies, but I'm just curious if anyone else has had this before, or know what it is? Thank you.

Update:

No new meds or vitamins. I actually have been getting the right amount from more fruit and veggies and more water.

Bruising the way you are is not real good. It usually occurs when someone is taking a blood thinning medication. Have you started taking any new medications or supplements? Do you feel more tired, out of breath easily, feel like your limbs are heavy? If you have any of these symptoms you should call your doctor. Being over cautious is better than ignoring strange symptoms and bruising that way is not normal.

I don't think you have anything to worry about, just let your doctor know on your next visit, don't stress about it. I don't know why all of a sudden this is happening but i am 35yrs old and I bruise just the same. I have no idea hoe I get some of my bruises and I get asked alot and I have no answers. I think people think that I am hiding something. I never use to bruise easily either. I love to wrestle and play fight with my hubbie and when he grabs me on the upper arms, without a doubt I will have bruises there the next day. It looks terrible!

When you're at the doctor next week, just make sure you mention the problem and ask for a full blood count. Your platelet count might be a little low. It may just be just due to a vitamin deficiency or generalised infection.

But I think it's worth just making sure it's not something more serious. Especially because it developed so rapidly, and the bruising is so widespread.
