How do I get rid of this thing on the side of my nose?
I've got this small, brown dot (not a pimple) on the side of my nose that I want to get rid of. I asked my doctor about it during my last annual physical (Feb '07) and he said he could freeze it off and that it's not cancerous, etc. Does anyone have some ideas on how to remove this unwanted guest? Serious answers only, please, although I imagine a few "pop it's!" tossed in. Drugstore and home surgery methods are fine by me.
PS - I'm not going to cut my nose off to spite my face, either. I'm also 40 years old, white with fair, sensitive skin that tans easily. I have no other problems with acne, etc.

You're most likely talking about a mole. It's no big deal to have your doctor "freeze" it off, there are no home remedies for this. Lots of fair people have moles or "beauty marks" and it's no big deal, just a bit of extra melanin.

Find a reputable dermatologist to remove it for you. This is fairly common. Your doctor probably thinks it's unimportant in the scheme of things since it's no cancerous. However, you obviously feel that it is a distraction. Personally, I feel your pain and I would opt to have it removed before it grows any larger.

You should probably talk to your doctor or a dermatologist before you make any decisions to do-it-yourself. I would want to be on the safe side.

Stick with the Dr. on this one or live with it. I wouldn't mess around withit myself.
