How can anyone support Palestine to be nation?
Their are already 23 Islamic states not including Palestine. Their is one Jewish state. Muslims claim Jerusalem is their holy land but in the Koran it is not mentioned once while in the Jewish Bible it is mentioned over 500 times? Even when Clinton came close to having peace, Arafat rejected it, making it obvious that he had no intentions on peace, while Israel gave him pretty much everything he wanted including a part of Jerusalem, something they did in the past and the Palestine's than tried to take country of the whole country. Overall I just don't understand why people can say Israel should be Palestine, when Israel was Jewish land before Islam was a religion.
After viewing some responses I have only been humored by the Anti-Israeli supporters, don't you get it, Palestinas are killed and attacked because they are trying to destroy Israel. They have text books in their schools saying to destroy Israel, the radical Muslims in Palestine wish none other than to kill the Israelis when the Israelis are procteting themselves from the people who want nothing less than the destuction of Israel, as G. Meyer former Prime Minister of Israel once said, "Their will be peace when the Palestinas love their childern more than they hate Israelis." I still don't understand how people can support a nation like Palestine, one who wants no peace, just destruction.
Can somebody please give a legit response, everyone who is Anti-Israel can only rewrite history or use name calling, try something new, for the people who said it's been a Palestine state since 1922 are hilarious, Palestinians did not call them selfs that until two decades after Israel was made a country. Israel was a state in 1312 B.C., before Islam was a religion, I still have not seen one decent argument for Palestine expect for lies. I want someone to explain to me why they believe "Palestinians" should have this land when they have 23 other countries to go to and the Jews only have one.If your excuse is other Muslims countires wont allow them in,than their is an issue because somehow the Jews can let any Jew into a country the size of Rhode Island but the Muslims will reject their own people with countries the size of Texas,Why won't Muslims help their own people out? Maybe because their only goal is the destruction of Israel. Israel has offered peace, the Arabs rejected them all.
Benny Morris, the same man who wrote a whole book on Israels wrong doing and illegal occupation? I take it that is where you are getting all this information? The book explains what you all you say. A user even used him as a source to reply to this question. Well if you didn;t know Benny Morris wrote a whole another book following his book on Israelis illegal occupation and discovered he had been doing his research in the wrong places and was flat out wrong. Next time you use a source look into it, Benny Morris rewrote a whole explain why he was so wrong in his first book that you are referring too. For the water issue, thats a joke, Israel supplies not only most of Palestine but also other Arab nations with lot's of water. Look on all the saving water sites in the world, it displays how much Israeli gives to it nieghbors. I would like to know what Arab proposal their was because the only one I have ever heard is the destructions of Israel proposal, clearly a Anti-Semitic one.
Israel has the land in Golan Heights
because they were attacked. When a nation attacks another nation and they lose their is a possibility they will lose land too. Israel is a democracy, they do not want land occupied by Palestinian. The Palestinians lost land because they attacked Israel in 1967, they lost the war they started and lost some land with it, it's a consequence of losing a war.
http://www.peacefaq.com/sixdaywar.html : This website will give you a fair description of the 1967 war, showing the reasons why Israel was forced to defend it self and also came up with winning land.

The Land Of Israel For The People Of Israel
Did you know?
" The Jewish people existed 2000 years before the establishment of Islam.
" Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital for over 3,300 years, but was never an Arab capital.
" Jerusalem is mentioned 700 times in the Bible, while the Koran does not contain a single reference to Jerusalem.
" There has been a Jewish Majority in Jerusalem since before 1850.
" The Jewish People pray facing Jerusalem, while the Arabs pray with their backs to Jerusalem, towards Mecca.
" The PLO was established in 1964 while East Jerusalem and the West Bank were under their control, with the aim of "liberating" the rest of Israel.
" The Arabs have 500 times more area than Israel.
" The Arabs have 22 states; The Jews have only one Homeland.
Arab-Israel Conflict -- Forgotten Facts!
The term "Palestinian" is itself a masterful twisting of history. To portray themselves as indigenous, Arab settlers adopted the name of an ancient Mediterranean tribe, the Philistines ("Invaders" in Hebrew), that disappeared out over almost 3000 years ago. The connection between this tribe and modern day Arabs is nil. Romans, in order to conceal their shame and anger with rebellious regions, changed the references to Judea and Samaria by naming them Palestine.
1. Nationhood and Jerusalem - Israel became a nation in the 14th century B.C.E. Two thousand years before the rise of Islam.
2. Since 1272 B.C.E. the Jews have had dominion over the land for up to 1,000 years with a continuous Jewish presence in the land for the past 3,300 years.
3. The only Arab dominion since the Arab invasion and conquest in 635 C.E. lasted no more than 22 years.
4. King David founded the city of Jerusalem. Mohammed never came to Jerusalem.
5. For over 3,000 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital. Jerusalem has never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem, they never sought to make it their capital and Arab leaders did not come to visit.
6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in Tanach, the Jewish Holy Scriptures. Jerusalem is not mentioned once in the Koran.
7. Jews pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray facing Mecca (often with their backs toward Jerusalem).
8. In 1854, according to a report in the New York Tribune, Jews constituted two-thirds of the population of that holy city. (The source: A journalist on assignment in the Middle East that year for the Tribune. His name was Karl Marx. Yes, that Karl Marx.)
9. In 1867, Mark Twain took a tour of Palestine. This is how he described that land: A desolate country whose soil is rich enough but is given over wholly to weeds. A silent, mournful expanse. We never saw a human.
10. In 1882, official Ottoman Turk census figures showed that, in the entire Land of Israel, there were only 141 000 Muslims, both Arab and non-Arab.
11. A travel guide to Palestine and Syria was published in 1906 by Karl Baedeker; The book estimated the total population of Jerusalem at 60,000, of whom 7,000 were Muslims, 13,000 were Christians and 40,000 were Jews.
12. As the Jews came and drained the swamps and made the deserts bloom, Arabs followed. They came for jobs, for prosperity, for freedom. And, they came in large numbers.
13. In 1922, with what was widely acknowledged as the illegal separation of Transjordan, the Jews were forbidden to settle on almost 77% of the Palestine, while Arab settlement went unrestricted and encouraged by British mandatory authority.
14. Prior to the Second World War Mojli Amin, a member of the Arab Defense Committee for Palestine, proposed the idea "that all the Arabs of Palestine will leave and be divided up amongst the neighboring Arab countries. In exchange for this, all the Jews living in Arab countries will leave and come to Palestine."
15. Did you know that Saudi Arabia was not created until 1913, Lebanon until 1920? Iraq did not exist as a nation until 1932, Syria until 1941; the borders of Jordan were established in 1946 and Kuwait in 1961. Any of these nations that would say Israel is only a recent arrival would have to deny their own rights as recent arrivals as well. They did not exist as countries. They were all under the control of the Turks. Over 80% of the original British Mandate land was given to Arabs without population transfer of Arabs from the land designated for Jews.
16. In 1947, the Jewish state huddled on 18% of the original British Mandate land. The Jews accepted it gratefully. The Arabs rejected it with a vengeance and seven Arab states immediately declared war against Israel.
17. In 1948, the Arab refugees were encouraged to leave Israel by Arab leaders promising to purge the land of Jews. Most of them left in fear of being killed by their own Arab brothers as traitors.
18. Some 850,000 Jewish refugees were forced to flee from Arab countries, due to Arab brutality, persecution and pogroms.
19. The number of Arab refugees who left Israel in 1948 is claimed to be around 630,000 (where did they get this number?). Based on population census, estimated number of Arabs who left Israel was around 460,000. They were ordered to leave by Arab leaders at the time.
20. From 1948 till 1967 Arabs made no attempt to create a Palestinian state. Under Jordanian rule, Jewish holy sites were desecrated, 58 synagogues in Jerusalem were destroyed and the Jews and Christians were denied access to places of worship. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian sites have been preserved and made accessible to people of all faiths.
21. Arabs began identifying themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1964 only, on the initiative of Egyptian-born Yasser Arafat. The idea became popular Arab propaganda tool after Israel re-captured Judea, Samaria and Gaza in the defensive 6-Day War of 1967,
22. Out of the 100,000,000 refugees since World War II, Arab-Palestinians is the only refugee group in the world that has never been absorbed or integrated into their own peoples' lands. Jewish refugees were completely absorbed into Israel.
23. Arab refugees INTENTIONALLY were not absorbed or integrated by the rich Arab oil states that control 99.9 percent of the Middle East landmass. They are kept as virtual prisoners by the Arab power brokers with misplaced hatred for Jews and Western democracy.
24. There is only one Jewish state. There are 60 Muslim countries, including 22 Arab nations.
25. The PLO's Charter still calls for the destruction of the State of Israel.
26. Pan-Arabism or the doctrine of Muslim Caliphate declares that all land that used to belong to Muslims must be returned to them. Thus, Spain, for example, must eventually be re-conquered.

Although there were "Palestinians" living on lands that became part of Israel, they were never called "Palestinians" and they never established or claimed to be a state.
Let's face it, almost all Palestinians (and other Muslims) hate Israel. They have no trouble trying to rewrite history (although most of them are illiterate and can't write at all).
You may remember Gamal Abdul Nasser, Egypt's president during the 1950s and 1960s. He was an intractable foe of Israel, which he wanted to destroy. Israel was his scapegoat, responsible for all the problems in the Arab world.
As one pundit said at the time, "If Israel did not exist, Nasser would have to invent it." After all, he needed a scapegoat so HE was not seen as responsible for the plight of the Arabs.
I remember hearing about a poster in the window of a travel agency in New York after the 1967 war. It said, "Visit Israel...See The Pyramids!"
I was passing by a New York delicatessen one day and saw a poster offering a special. It was a "Nasser Sandwich," which was "Half chicken and half tongue."
Hatred always supplants reason, as it has in this case, but Israel is still in place and will remain so.
Try not to worry too much about how the islamists spew their venom about Israel.
We do not have a defense treaty with Israel. However, the U.S. is a firm ally of Israel, and if its neighbors attack it again, we will get involved.

When are you going to learn that this conflict it's not a religious one? Most people support a two state solution:Israel and Palestine in the borders from 1967 living side by side.Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be an option for Israel, who keeps occupying Arab land...Under international law this occupation is illegal and whatever the Bible says it does not dictate international law...
As for Clinton...yeah nice proposal:they offered the Palestinians a country where they didn't have any control on the borders,on space air nor on the water supplies.Israel would have controlled everything,so I guess it's pretty obvious why he rejected it.I think the Pal;estinians showed that they wanted peace when they recognized Israel in the borders from 1967 ,giving up more then 70% of the land they were entitled according to the partition plan...they wanted peace and an independent state. They got nothing in return...There is a viable peace proposal made by the Arab states,Israel rejected it...So I think for most it's pretty clear who is blocking the peace talks...
As for the Jews used to live there 2000 years ago ,so this is why they have more rights to live there then the people who populated that land for the last centuries...well I could not care less...In that case how many people should leave their homes?Let's start with the Americans and Australians...They where not there first...
Benny Morris?Nope, this is not where I am getting these informations...I think you should read some UN resolutions to see on what land should Israel be and that they are illegally occupying the Palestinians territories and the Golan Heights...
As for the water, yes,I know how much Israel gives to its neighbours...especially in Gaza.Very "generous"...
The same proposal from 2002 made by the Arab state that simply asks Israel to respect the law and withdraw to the borders from 1967 and allow the creation of a Palestinian state...That's all:"land for peace"...It's not asking for the destruction of Israel and it's definitely not an Anti-Semitic one...
The 1967 war was started by Israel. They attacked 3 Arab countries ,not th other way around...

I support a Palestinian Nation that is contributed to by not just Israel.
Palestinians have lived in many Arabic countries, and have been kicked out of some. So why should Israel be the only one to give up land?
I'd like to see Jordan and Egypt each give some next to the parts that are connected to the Gaza strip and the West Bank. And I would like to see the other Arabic countries kick in other necessities (like building water pipes, roads, other infrastructure) to support their share.
If the Palestinians could finally get their own country, with appropriate water and travel rights, then they wouldn't have any excuse to keep destroying Israel. Then if they still attacked Israel, it would be within the rights for that country to truly defend itself.
Until Palestinians have a country, they can keep playing on international "sympathy" about being the poor landless downtrodden. We need to give them their own country, if for no other reason, so that they can grow up, and take responsibility for their own disasters.

Yes, Palestine was there before 1948 when the Jewish people became a Nation; still are. However, the Jews were there before the Muslin's in old testament times. The Indians where in the Americas too before the Spanish and English; we don't want to give it back either. You have a legitimate argument, but the Bible prophesied the destruction of Jerusalem and it happened in 66 AD. The Jewish people were spread out over the world and lost their linage and tribes. The nut jobs within the Muslin's want to impose a religious theocracy and impose their will upon all people. The nut jobs within the Jewish Nation may want the same thing.
So, I can see both sides, but I will side with the people that can bring true constitutional democracy, freedom, liberty and prosperity. I think we are all sick of the religious claims..it doesn't wash in either book.

They don't care about the Palestinians. However Syria, Saudi Arabia and Iran send "financial aid" to Hamas. They use the Palestinians to get back at Israel but notice that they aren't welcome in their countries. Jordan had a virtual war with the Palestinians because they were threatening their monarchy. Lebanon has been virtually ruined by Palestinians. Arab countries know better than to invite terrorist groups onto their own turf. But they largely dislike Israel. Hence you'll see plenty of "passive support" for Hamas but no government action. Mareka: You want to talk about a "shame on Islam?" Try Hamas - they target civilians. They are a blight on the Muslim world. They want to convert every square of Israel into an Islamic theocracy with no Jews through violence alone. Hypocrite. The Hamas Charter: "Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it." The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up. " "There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors."

UN Planned State of Israel as a Still-Birth

There is every indication that the leaders of the United Nations never intended that the nation of Israel was to live very long after she declared her independence May 14, 1948. But, after the massacre of European Jewry, the nations of the world had a brief moment of self appraisal and were shocked at their complicity in the most massive Genocide this planet had ever known. They all recognized that they had participated. From the instrument of Hitler’s Germany, through the Christian Europeans, the Church, the Red Cross, including the decision by the Western Allies not to rescue, feed or house the Jewish refugees –– all were guilty of committing Genocide. [Note Evian and Bermuda agreements]
The records are plain, published and available for review by doubters or would-be revisionists. However, as a brief indication of their collective, pervasive hostility as exemplified by the U.N., I will list a short U.N. voting record.
U.N.'S VOTING HISTORY AGAINST ISRAEL
Security Council: 175 total resolutions –– 74 neutral; 4 against perceived interests of Arab state or entity, 97 against Israel.

Ok Eric, I'm gonna try to be reasonable here, even though I don't think you'll like my response.
First of all, Palestine WAS a nation. I have a vintage World Atlas circa the 1930's, and there it IS. Palestine. It was a British mandate, but it was home to the Palestinian people.
Eric, the reason that Arafat denied Clinton's peace accord is because it contained absolutely NO water rights for the Palestinian people...I think you'll agree that water rights are pretty essential to a desert nation. My source for this information is Middle East expert Georgie Ann Geyer, who seriously questioned why this fact wasn't made available until fairly recently.
And, so what if there are many other, as you call them, "Islamic states"? ( I believe what you are referring to are actually ARAB states.) The fact is that at one time, the nation in question once belonged to the Palestinian people, most of whom have been displaced since 1948. I liken it to Ohioans taking over my home state of Michigan, and saying, "Sorry, it's ours now; get out."
And I'd say, not damned likely!

palestinians are refugees in other lands. any people deserve their own land. i believe the dispute was Arafat wanted all of Jerusalem, not the whole country. as for the Bible,it mentions when Israel will have its country and that time has not yet come. Israel mentioned in the Bible so many was in reference to the descendants of Jacob(Israel). using the bible is not practical if you believe in Israel being a legitimate country at this time. which i do. look up the census for 1922?,it will show that there were more palestinans than jews.
now for those that will say there is/was no palestine, that is as crazy as saying there was no holocaust

I SUPPORT PALESTINE WITH ALL MY HEART! First of all it is not the land of the Israelis but the land of Palestine. The land was called and always will be called Palestine not Israel to me because it was the Palestinian's land long before the Israelis. Basically Israelis came and invaded Palestinian territory because they dont have land of their own. So your saying you support people(Israelis) taking land/the home of innocent people(Palestinians), and you expect Palestinians to not fight back, well ya their going to fight for what rightfully belongs to them. Israelis got to get their own home and stop trying to kick people put of their homes. All that Israelis do is kill innocent people, destroy beautiful land, and tarnish everything. Its called the news, watch it and see what those evil Israelis do! How dare you support killers. I am 100% devoted to Palestine, Palestinians, and THEIR home/land! Its all for the Palestinians...LONG LIVE PALESTINE...........END OF DISCUSSION!!!!

I'm not sure if the source is entirely accurate but I found this quote:
Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Quran. Islamic tradition states Muhammad took a journey in a single night from "a sacred mosque" – believed to be in Mecca in southern Saudi Arabia – to "the farthest mosque," and from a rock there ascended to heaven. The farthest mosque later became associated with Jerusalem
