LADIES ONLY - 15 Minutes?
I have heard in many situations that a woman will decide whether or not she'll date a guy within 15 minutes of meeting him. What do you think? Instant decision? Or can it take time?

I definitely think that if the woman is seriously thinking about her future then it will take a lot longer than 15 minutes to decide whether or not to date him. A lot of the dating qualities that a woman likes in a man can probably be found after first meeting him, but if she really wants to get to know him, it will take longer. If the woman is only into fooling around and will take any guy, then yes it will take less than or equal to 15 minutes.

Hmm...I think that women can tell within 15 minutes of a 'first date' whether or not she will want a second date, but there are many cases where a woman can meet a man in a situation where they will have ongoing contact and through that contact her initial ideas or prejudices about that person can change for the better or worse because she has more opportunity to get to know that person without the pressure of having to decide.
Therefore, in a lot of first date and blind date situations or situations where a woman is getting hit on and has to make a decision right there whether or not to take it to a more personal 'getting to know you with the chance it could lead to dating', a woman has to go on her gut instinct and first feeling, which is where the 15 minute 'rule' comes into play.
If there is no pressure for a woman to decide whether or not there will be a romantic connection (ie, knowing each other through work or having mutual friends who aren't pushing them to date), though, there are many stories where time has changed the equation where it might not have had the opportunity if it were a one time meeting.

I think most women know to a degree within the first 5 minutes if they are interested in a guy. But that's primarily physical attraction...I would agree that after 15 min, you would know if the convo was forced or natural, and I guess if you are still checking your watch at that point, it's not going well - bc when you have a great date, time flies!

Well you are going to form an instant opinion within 15 minutes. In that 15 minutes if you can already tell you aren't compatible, then yeah we will go ahead and make up our mind. But if we aren't sure, or get a good feeling, then we will more than likely give it more time. It probably differs with every girl, but thats how I am.

I think it depends on what the impression is, and what the person's initial reaction is. If there isn't any chemistry, and that's flat out apparent then that's a pretty easy decision and can be made quickly. If the guy is acting in a way that is obviously unappealing, such as making crude comments, or slapping random females on the butt... pretty easy decision there. I suppose it just depends on the situation. There are definitely times however when it's obvious that wasting your time is just that... wasting your time.

I think it can take time. First impressions are not always correct. In fact, I always give a guy two dates to see if there's a connection. The 15 minute thing I think is for physical attaction.

I met my current boyfriend off of Yahoo chat (I'm sorry to admit). We had not exchanged pictures, just descriptions - and you know how a lot of people exaggerate or flat-out lie when it comes to describing themselves online.
When I first met him, I was not attracted at all. But as the date progressed, my opinion of him has changed. We have been together a year-and-a-half and are cohabitating.
So, first impressions aren't always correct. I feel for those who make such quick decisions and don't open themselves up for potential opportunities.

An instant decision would only be made by a girl if she was desperate to get a guy otherwise she would take her take to think about it and see if there are any changes in the guy.

I dont know.. i suppose you can tell if youre attracted to the physically or not in that time. You probably find out whether or not they have a nice personaility as well. People can surprise you though, someone you think is an idiot can turn out to be really nice and vie versa.
It takes time to get to know someone properly so its not entirely true.

This is usually true. But I thought it was that a woman will decide if she will sleep with the guy in the first 15 minutes.
