    It should be abolished. Common law marriage is a cheap way out for men who can't really commit. Women who stay with the same guy for years and years with no commitment (by "commitment", i mean marriage), are idiots.

    i have son and daugherinlaw with that. its not great. once you do that and its hard to get a real marriage if there is one they want its expensive then and they cant afford it but its at least where they can 1/2 here in texas.

    there shouldn't be any.....there is not enough value to family as it is these days....let's not make it easier.
