Feed wet food 3-4 times a day. Kittens like the smell of the wet food better and will eat more than the dry. Leave out dry food all day. Even 6 week old kittens like to crunch some dry food. Buy a high quality canned food that is specifically for kittens, not adult cats. It has more nutrients and is more easily digested. Chicken is a flavor most kittens can't resist, but lamb & rice, turkey, veal are also good.

I work at an animal hospital and it is always recommended to feed multiple times a day 3-4 times daily to get weight gain. Younger kittens should be feed that often anyway. I would recommend science diet kitten canned. If they are old enough to eat dry you can offer that all day long and then feed small amounts of canned atleast 3 times a day.

If your kittens are too skinny, consider whether they have any parasites, like worms. However, they usually have round bellies as well.
Make sure you have the optimum in kitten food to feed them. Something that is high in protein and low in cereal like foods (corn, wheat). The food should also contain good oils to encourage good skin and fur coat growth (usually omega 3-6 oils).
Offer them both wet and dry foods. Holistic feeds will pay for themselves in the long run - less vet bills.
Look into Eagle Pack Brands, Nature's Best, Ultra Performatrim (Pet Value Store), Wysong, etc.

Well, if your kitten is under-weight, then look for a special weight gain formula cat food. I suggest Science Diet, or IAMS.
If you want him/her to gain more weight, then give your kitten a few extra treats before meals, but be careful - you don't want your kitten to become obese, because then he/she will become lazy and it will shorten the kitten's life-span.

Purina kitten chow is what I've always giving my cats when they were kittens and also to pregnant cats. it is inexpensive and sold at most stores. leave the food available for the kitten(s) if there is a problem with eating that is a whole different situation.

Tuna or
Pet brand milk( its not actually for pets its for cooking that's just the name of the brand) I'm not sure if it'll cause them to gain weight but its a good substitute for their mothers milk.
If that doesn't work try calling a local vet or humane society,
