Most running stores have people who run a lot and can help see what kind of runner you are so you can get the right shoe. For example, are you a neutral foot runner? Or do you overpronate? People at Target won't have a clue, and at most big-box sports stores you would be lucky to find a knowledgeable runner.

well, i think you should buy running shoes from stores like Reebok, or Adidas. usually brand shoes are the best. make sure it feels comfortable; not too tight, not too loose and make sure the sole is flexible. hope this helps:)
