my power ballads play list rocks!!!

I rocked out on Warrant on the way into work- it's a great way to start your day!!!

    One hit wonders are cool

Sing your hear out is good

Who did it- you could put random songs by obscure artists and make a drinking game out of it- of course you don't get to play, but it's fun to watch your friends guess!!

I can see some problems with that. If Y!A does a category for every religion out there, there won't be any bandwidth left for anything else. And then the Christians will want the categories further subdivided into denominations, and some of the Orthodox Jews won't want to participate in the same group as the Reformed Jews. Plus which, I enjoy the variety here. I've learned a lot about other belief systems, thanks to the diversity of this group. I've met some terrific folks from all walks of life, not just from my own background and denomination. And I'm still learning how to listen to the Holy Spirit in order to give a good response to questions. All in all, I like things the way they are. I think we'd still have trolls even if we divided the categories, so why bother? IMHO, we derive peace from within, and even if this place is a zoo some days, we can still maintain our calmness and good attitude.* * Feel free to remind me of these words the next time that this place is getting on my last thin frayed nerve! ;-)

Power-Pop would be a good category to make a play list of. It would include: the Beatles; the Hollies; the Kinks; the Byrds; the Monkees; the Who; Big Star; Badfinger; Dwight Twilley; the Scruffs; the Raspberries; Electric Light Orchestra; Cheap Trick; the Knack; Material Issue; Jellyfish; the Posies; Teenage Fanclub; the New Pornographers; the Pernice Brothers; ... etc.

Motown Soul would also be a good category: the Miracles; the Four Tops; the Temptations; Martha & the Vandellas; the Supremes; the Jackson 5; Stevie Wonder; etc.

Southern Soul would also be a good category: Sam & Dave; Otis Redding; Percy Sledge; Arthur Alexander; Wilson Pickett; Johnny Taylor; Booker T & the MGs; the Mad Lads; Carla Thomas; Rufus Thomas; Mabel John; etc.

Rock-a-billy: Elvis Pressley; early Johnny Cash; Jerry Lee Lewis; Carl Perkins; early Roy Orbison; Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps; Buddy Holly; Sonny Burgess; Johnny Burnett; etc.

Country-Rock: the Eagles; Poco; Firefall; Gene Clark; the Flying Burrito Brothers; Graham Parsons; the Golden Smog; Uncle Tupelo; early Wilco; Sun Volt; the Jayhawks; etc.
