Thinking of buying a K98?
I was thinking of buying an original K98 Nazi Mauser from WW2. Does anyone know if there are any companies that produce reproduction, new, barrels to replace teh old barrels if they are not fire ready? Also would be looking for other parts if anyone has any good links or companies.
Anybody have a link for Inter Ordance, can't seem to find them.

I collect Mausers and applaud your selection. They are old, heavy and sort of ugly but I love them. Paul Mauser (google the name) invented them and over 100,000,000 have been made. J&G, AIM, CENTERFIRE SYSTEMS, Inter Ordnance, SOG; just to mention a few sell them. You can buy an excellant Yugo 48 in the low one hundred dollar range. The action is superb and the stock can be refinished to look like new. They are one exceptional shooter. Since a lot of them were fired with corrosive ammo they may have a dark bore but don't get excited about it, they still shoot fine. There is nothing written that says a bore has to be bright and shiny to be good. I have a persian mauser with a bright new bore and a turkish mauser that looks awful and they shoot just alike. In point of fact a mauser can look like it was used to drive fence posts and still give you a five shot group at a hundred yards you can lay a silver dollar on. Wolf and S & B are making some very good 8mm soft point ammo for hunting, just to mention a couple. It is a very good hunting round and enjoys the same popularity as our 30/06 round. Enough of my singing the praises of the Mauser; go forth and get your own so you have something to excite you.

Get one from AIM. They are pretty good, and it doesn't hurt to cough up the extra 10 bucks for handpick.
