She has to be 20lbs AND 1 year old. It's safest to keep her rear facing for as long as your car seat allows. Many convertible car seats allow rear facing until 35 lbs. Even if she is legally allowed to be forward facing, small children are safest rear facing.

She has to be one year old AND 20 pounds...BOTH, not one or the other. The law in some states stipulate 22 pounds rather than 20.

However, there are many benefits to extended rear facing and most people agree that you should keep the child rear facing as long as they meet the weight limitations of the car seat (which can go up to 30 or 35 pounds, depending on the model).

Most states say that a child needs to be at least 1 year of age AND weight at least 20 lbs.

If I recall right it's 1 yr, 20 lbs AND 25 inches. Either way its best to wait til 12-14 mos bc of their neck control and its just safer.

Most of these are close, but it is 1 year old and 22 pounds, not 20. Not that it makes that much diffetrence, but it kind of does. Keep her backwards untill after her 1 year old check-up. then you can be sure of her weight, and get the ok from her doc.

She sould be at least 12 months, and have good head control before turning the seat around.

According to our seat...One year of age AND 22 lbs.

I belive it is 22 lbs or at least 1 yr old.

1year and 20lbs. Example: Since your daughter is already 20lbs you have to wait until she is a year old to have her forward facing. And that info is from our fire dept where we got our car seat installed.

She has to meet BOTH of these criteria:

    - Be one year old

    - Be over 20 lbs.

At least in NY state, I dont know if this varies by states.
