Ok My Home is about 1500 square feet with a steep slope to the roof. About how much would it cost to re roof it? it has to be stripped there is like 5 layers underneath this stuff. last layer is Shake Shingles. It all has to come off to re roof. I think a metal roof would be awesome when it rains, the sound on it would be so nice, however it may make your home stay warmer because of it reflecting the suns rays.
I figure between $4,500 to $6,000. Just find a good reliable company, and check with the BBB to see if they are honest and reliable.

I paid $110 per square labor and materials. This included tear off and replacement of one layer. You say you have 5 layers. this would drive the cost up considerably.

$6000 or so? Be sure to get lots of estimates and call the references they give you. Don't pick a number out of the phone book. Roofers are sometimes just kids that learned the business from someone they helped out. Only call businesses that you have heard good things about.

you need to find a roofing company, and usually what they'll do is come in and estimate the amount for you. but there isn't a set price due the different sizes and styles.
