What could you tell me...?

My kitten was around my engine and I didn't know it and I got down the road and I heard all these god awful sounds and when I tried to turn around and go back home, the belt broke when I put it in reverse (and the cat finally got killed). I know the cat suffered long enough for it to kill me inside. Can you tell me something that would make me feel better?

I have heard of this hapening quite a few times to a few people I have known... it is not your fault, it must have been horifying I can only imagine. cats like to climb and there was no way you could have known it was in there. I'm sorry.

Probably can't tell you anything that would make you feel better. Cats are attracted to engines because they're nice and warm, and it's small and dark under the hood. The cat gets caught in the fan belt after the engine starts, so it might be a good idea to honk the horn before you start your car. If the neighbors object, you'll have to lift the hood to make sure your cat isn't under the hood. If cats are kept indoors, this isn't a problem.

While I am sorry for the loss of your kitten , and maybe could chalk this up to a naivity on your part, and say live and learn, the hard lesson are the best remembered. THIS TYPE OF THING IS ONE OF THE REASONS CATS SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED TO PUT ONE TOE OUT THE DOOR.

sorry if that didn't make you feel better, but if you learn from this, your next cat will be a lucky cat, and maybe learning a brutal lesson will help you feel better.

Gosh, I hope this is a joke. If it is not, I am very very sorry for your loss. I guess all I can say is that the cat is no longer suffering and obviously you loved him very much. The only thing I can say is that you obviously did not mean to do it and it was an accident so I am sure he forgives you.

I'm so sorry! I had this happen to a friend before. Maybe rescuing another cat would help you feel better?
