Himalayan cat experience...??

I have just adopted a Himalayan cat from my local animal shelter. Is there anything I need to know to make sure she stays happy and healthy? This is my first experience with a long haired cat...I know she'll need daily brushings, but does anyone have any other tips on this particular breed? Thank you for your help!

you just really have to make sure you brush it's fur everyday. There isn't much that much more you have to do to make sure a long hair cat is healthy as to a short hair. I have a long and short hair himalayan. They are brother and sister. I also got them from the animal shelter! Just make sure it's fur doesn;t get knotted up, and that it's happy. Then all the basics! Actually, a few years ago we gave away the long haired cause he was tired of his sis and was pulling out his hair! I don't blame him. she gets on my nerves too!
