Don't know if it's military or not but it represents a heart, meaning "love."

I dont believe thats a "military term". At least I've never seen it. I know it means less than 3 and Ive never seen it mean anything else.

I think you were trying to write "superscript" 3, which is often spoken as "cubed" as in (C3) C-cubed, which stands for the abbreviation Command Control & Communications - CCC, which "looks" a little bit like c-times-c-times-c, or C-cubed.
So, if you see it correctly printed as a superscript above-and-to-the-right of a letter, it means that it is that letter repeated three times, and is an abbreviation for something.

If you are talking about what may be printed on the side of vehicles...it's a quick way to tell what company and platoon the vehicle is from.
Neither of the units I was in used this type of symbolism. So I may not be completely correct, some one help me out.

Normally elite in reference to the military or anything else, means that they are better than the other parts of the military that they serve with or associated with.

Army, in my Armor Unit we were D (Delta) Company. I was in the 3rd platton on the first tank. So our symbol was <31.
A (alpha) company was ^ with the number under it and B was 31> and C was V with numbers above it.
^>V< = ABCD. We had no E (echo) companies.....
Other than that.... who knows.

It is a heart symbol, used by the military to say, "hey can't we peacefully resolve this? If the answer is no, them BOOOOOM!!
I can't believe anyone actually has the guts to take on the US
