If you could take a fishing trip anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Hmmmm... I wonder if anyone will say the same place I am dying to go to.

Probably the most diverse wetland in the world, Pantanal. I wonder how far off you will be on your ultimate adventure. I also want to catch a freshwater Dorado and they are in this system.
Here's a clip from Wikipedia:
This ecosystem is home to a known 3,500 species of plants, as well as over 650 birds, 400 species of fish, around 100 species of mammals, and 80 species of reptiles, including the caiman, a species closely related to the alligator, of which there are an estimated 10 million. The Pantanal is a natural home for the Hyacinth Macaw. This bird is endangered due to its US$10,000 price tag on the black market. Other threatened species include the Jaguar, Caiman, Maned Wolf, Giant Otter, Giant Armadillo, Capybara, and Brazilian Tapir.
Giant two-metre water lilies float on the lakes.
By any measure, this is an immense region. Using as an estimate for the entire Pantanal 170,000 km2 (17 million hectares or 42 million acres) — and this is probably low — it would still encompass an area more extensive than many countries, including England, Austria, Hungary, Greece or Ireland. It is larger than 29 of the states in the United States, surpassing New York State, Wisconsin and Florida and an estimated 17 times the size of the remaining Florida Everglades. As a wetland system, it is likely unsurpassed. Indeed, using figures supplied by the World Conservation Monitoring Center, the Pantanal would comprise about 3 percent of the entire world’s wetlands.
It might take a few lifetimes to fish it all. See ya!

I would go somewhere from Oregon to Alaska fly-fishing for salmon. Then I would find some other way to fish for them. The coast of British Columbia seems to call me, but it will probably Lake Ontario salmon again this fall.
A thirty-pound Chinook is not something to look down on.

Remote Canadian Wilderness setting. Catch big walleye, Smallmouth Bass, and Northern Pike. No phones Tvs, etc. Just the sound of the loons in the morning.

I've been to the Keys, but I didn't really like the smaller fishing (I like catching stuff to EAT!) nor did I like the good trip all the way to Florida.
So... closer to home on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I would like to go to Venice, Louisiana, and catch some dolphin and snapper and king mackerel :D

Cuba, a fisherman's paradise.
Unfortunately visiting Cuba is against the laws of the United States of America.

Costa Rica, on the Osa Peninsula (South West). For big game fish and no competition.

I would go to Mexico for Bass and The 'Glades for everything else "saltwater".
I would go to "Dogtooth" or "Lac Suel" Lake (in Canada), for Walleye, Musky, Northern's, & Smallies.
Wouldn't that be some adventurous fishing trips?!!!!!!!!!
