My children, almost 4 and 20 months, are at very challenging ages. Are there any parenting DVDs out there?
Can you reccommend a great book on parenting? Thanks!

Dr. Phelan's "1-2-3 Magic" is an amazing (and amazingly easy) resource to use. You can probably find DVDs and books at your local library. They have several copies at my local library.
It deals with helping to stop inappropriate behavior and encourage good behavior. It's simple, and the only real requirement is that you be willing to be calm and consistent.
It may be a little early for your little one, but it should definitely help your 4 year-old. I think that it's designed for kids 2 and up.
I hope it helps!

You know the saying "they never wrote a book on parenting" I think you can buy books to do with children and how to overcome certain obstacles although I don't know what they are called (pop into your nearest book store) but I don't know if they do books on actual parenting.
It just comes with practice and all us parents get it wrong from time to time :o)

I suggest few things I am using it myself for my Godson. He is almost four years old. I got him subscription to Brilliant Star Magazine(It has a concise explanation of wisdom, good habits, EVEN about other religions in an un-biased view). I do want him to grow wise and open-minded, tolerant, loving and compassionate.
One of my best friends had first kid, I got him Baby einstein CDs for them to listen when they are asleep or around, or there are few kids CDs, as kids learn in all three modes, Auditory, Sensory, and Visual. Hopefully I can supply that to them in wise, loving, caring way.
There is other links too, but this is my personal favorites. http://www.bahaindex.com/modules.php?name=Amazon&o... (My favorite is "Kid Co-operation" and "THE Discipline Book").
Hope this helps. Best of luck, raising children can be demanding to our personal habits, instead of yelling and arguing, these books seem to have helped in different ways.

go to your local library, they have many DVD's you can watch, it is best to go to the library first to find the one that fits you and your life , that way you are not spending money on a bunch of DVD's you will not use
