Family tree question?

Biologically you will be her child's 3rd cousin... So what!?! Most often the people we are close to are our "real families" whether blood related or not. If you are going to be a big part of this child's life, you deserve the title of uncle. Uncle is often a courtesy term for someone we are very close to who holds a special place in our lives. It seems very fitting in your situation. When the child is older, if you feel the need to explain your biological connection, certainly do so. For now if you and your cousin agree that you should be "uncle", do your title proud. This child will be fortunate to have such a caring person in his/her life. Enjoy!

You would be a cousin. The child of your second cousin should be your third cousin, but since you guys are so close, you can say that you are just cousins.

You would be an uncle if the child were the child of your siblings.
