Shooting pains from stiches??

Has anyone ever had (for lack of a better word) 'shooting' pain from recent stiches?

In May I had major surgery that left me with two 4 inch scars. Occasionally (3 pr 4 times since May) I've experienced a shooting pain in one spot.... like an electrical jolt or something.

Even I think this is a weird question, but has anyone experienced something similar?

Yes it is common, you may have some scar tissue on the inside which is pulling. The pain also may be from a nerve which was cut, and your body may be trying to mend the nerve. Mention it to your doctor the next ime you see him. I still get an occassional jolt from a surgery site 20+ years old.
