Hahahaha, oh the sympathy tips! Gotta love them!! Never in my life did I make more cash then when I went to work pregnant. Here's to $$$. Good luck to you!

(Oh, and don't do the poor pitiful me thing, that's a drag! Just do what you normally do!)

I just go by the service I recieve. You are supposed tip 15%. If the person is extra nice or I can tell they are working really hard I give them more. I think it has more to do with your personality. Though now that I am 9 weeks pregnant I may have more sympathy to a pregnant women that is working at a restaurant because I know it can't be easy. So congrats!! And i wish you LOTS of money!!! :)

I'm calling my best friend right now to ask, as she is 8 mos pregnant and a restaurant manager and waitresses.

She told me that some people give her large tips, but don't say it's because she is pregnant. Some of the regulars at the restaurant will say "here's a tip for you ($5), and here's one for the baby ($10-20)"

Some people have straight told her they were giving her a bigger tip because she is pregnant.

she said that pregnancy and birthdays are when she gets the highest tips.

she isn't the kind of person to flaunt that she is pregnant just to get a bigger tip, she is just a really nice person and all of the regulars love her. i go to her restaurant all the time and have met many of the regular customers and they are all very personal with her and share things about their lives and kids. Just being personal with more customers often gets her larger tips. she deserves it. she is a great person and she will be a great mom.

If you were a 16 year old working in a dead end joint off some lonesome highway I might tip more out of sympathy but otherwise no. Dont expect a big increase in tips at all.

I used to make more tips per night on less tables than a pregnant girl I worked with once.

NO i do not tip more if your pregnant !!!!! I tip for good service. If the service sucks, well so does the tip i leave.....

Now i do go to a place during work hours.... its a family restraunt and they have healthy low cal selections.... i like to go there for lunch because i hate fast food. I have got up and helped the pregnant one carry a large trey..... I have got my own drink refill.......... and i have bought her a gift for the baby.

    But tip more NO

I recieved tips from my patiets in christmas cards, im a home care nurse. Some of them said here is a little something for the kids.........................some were 2-3.00 and other were 50-100.00. I put it all in a big jar...... i got like 1500.00 in tips last christmas, Me and my nurses all got together at my house christmas eve morning and the evening before and preped and made carry outmeals for our patients that didnt have anyone................

We made and delivered over 80 meals. I got them all an angle food cake since its the one cake all of them could have. Had to think of the diabetics too...My kids helped me deliver them and almost every single one of them cried. Sometimes its better to give then recieve.

While i was prego i worked up at the airport in a sunglasses and clothing store. the least expensive thing in the store was maybe $100 anyways... we would have a lot of famous and rich people drop in from time to time and they always tipped me well. I actually had Chamillionaire (rapper unsure if i spelled it right) come in and buy a pair of sunglasses that were about $300 and tip me $100. Lots of those situations. I know a lot of them just appreciated that I wasnt playing the "Oh im pregnant and shouldnt have to do this so im going to be lazy." Good Luck

If I notice that a waitress is pregnant, I make sure I ask for everything at once, so that she doesn't have to run around too much and yes, I admit that I do tip more. I guess in a way it is a sympathy thing, but I also know how hard it is...

I tip pregnant women better as long as the service is good.

If you weren't pregnant and I gave you a $5 tip for whatever I'd probably give a pregnant woman $7 as long as she did a good job if she didn't I wouldn't mind not giving her anything.

i also work 2 jobs where i recieve tips. i am definitely showing! i never get sympathy tips, they are actually quite similar to the tips that i got while not pregnant. i do get the occasional good tip where people will say "get something nice for your baby!" but they are never outrageous. you may get really lucky though!

I wouldn't expect it if I were you. Some people may not even realize that you're preggers until much later in you pregnancy. However, I think that some people will appreciate your work much more if they realize you're "working for two" (especially if you're a server. You're tips may increase a little as you appear more and more preggers.

    Congrats! I'm 25 weeks myself.
