for the 1st two, living in the south all my life, u would be suprized at just how realistic those situations can be, and how lucky i am that i never ran into them during my travels across the nation, and outside the contenental US.

for the 3rd, after all the natural disasters that our nation is woefully unequipped for, we are just one bird flu pandemic away from that actually happening.

Rob Zombie's House Of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects, because they were original, well scripted, well acted, emotional, disturbing, and clever, not like the rest of the tired bull **** out there. These films were also a throwback to the days of good exploitation film making of the 70's. Rob Zombie also used veteran horror/cult classic film actors, such as Sid Haig,Bill Moseley,Michael Berryman,Ken Foree,Karen Black,P.J. Soles,Michael J.Pollard and Geoffrey Lewis. Those are the only two films made recently I can even give credit to. I guess 28 Days Later was was alright, at least it had atmosphere.

I'd go with Hostel, All the Saw movies (cause I guess I like Gore) and The Hills have eyes, I didn't think it was scary but I loved the music and the Idea behind it, I know it was a remake but it was an extremely different idea than most the movies these days.

King Kong Sherlock Holmes 2 Pirates of the Caribbean 3 ...50/50, Fast 5, Inception, and LotR 3 were really good too.

Dawn of the Dead- The first zombie movie I've seen that isn't bad. (Not counting 28 days later)

Windego-It's a movie with a deer that runs around on its hind legs. It sounds cheesy, but it really is disturbing looking once you see it.

The Skeleton Key- Solid story with a few genuine chills.

Edit: Now that I think about it, Windego might have been a little before 2000. I'm not exactly sure.

Land of the Dead- because George A. Romero is a genius.

The Host (Korean)- because it is totally different from everything else that has plastered to the big screens as of late.

House of 1000 Corpses- because I'm a huge a Zombie fan. It was clever, witty, and funny.

Wolf Creek-shouldn't have seen it (I'm only 13)! So scary!

Scary Movie 1- Hilarious! So not horror!

Scary Movie 2- Even funnier! abit gross though...

1)Hostel- They PAY to torture you. You can't buy your way out of it.

2)Dawn of the Dead- Zombies who can run. Whoa!

3)The Hills Have Eyes- That's just f**ked up

The Grudge is awesome. I enjoy movies that creep you out with out tons of special effects. (The sequel sucked, though.)
