What would you do if your parents.....?

Died?? I hear kids (and adults) complaining about their parents...Why?? What if they weren't here anymore? My dad died (drowned) when I was 10 years old and my mom just died 3 years ago (from pancreatic cancer). I would give anything to have them back, my mom was my world. Love them, cherish them, never ever take them for granted!!

    Miss Tink,

As with anything or anyone....generally people don't realize a good thing until it's gone and in the case of the death of a parent a great thing!

aww i'm so sorry for your loss.. my mother also died from pancreatic cancer just a few years ago. she was a wonderful woman and i miss her every day. i can relate.

my father is a mean, pathetic useless monster, sexual and emotional abuser.... i haven't spoken to him in 16 years. my childhood was a nightmare on his account. I have post traumatic stress disorder, have been on medication, in and out of psyciatric hospitals, have nightmares. loads of therapy... i've finally learned to cope.

    some people are lousey parents..

now do you see why people complain about their parents? some aren't human.

and in response to the young lady who said children don't have much respect these days -- it's because their parents didn't respect them first... if they are disrespected by their parents FIRST, how could they possibly learn respect? just a thought.

I am lucky. I am a grandfather (X3) and both of my parents are still alive although very old. My wife, an only child, lost her mom to breast cancer when she was only 8. Her Dad was clueless as a father and then her evil step mother finally drove her out of the house when she was only 17.

It is so traumatic that you lost your Dad when you were only 10. Your Mom is gone, too. I offer you my sympathy for all you have lost. I thank you for reminding me of my own blessings.

i am so sorry to hear about your mom i know it must be hard for you. i never take my parents for granted.i see my mom everyday for lunch and i talk to my dad all the time. i just moved closer to them so i am able to see them more. i think kids these days do not realize how much their parents do for them. as they get older and have children of their own they will realize how smart their parents were. i make it a point to tell my parents i love them everyday.
