What channels play anime, and anime shows do they play?

I just got into Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, and Inyuyasha. I didn't used to like anime but, suddenly I love the shows, and the Japanese music, Ready Set GO! best Japanese song EVER! anyway I want to get into other shows that are sometimes funny but, also serious and sometimes sad. If you could recommend any non-kiddie anime show and what channel and what time and day it usually plays (Mountain Time) that would be very muchly appreciated!

Update:

I forgot to put in bleach which is kinda funny becuase it is like my favorite of them all : )

It depends on what kind of cable or satelite you have. I have verizon fios and I get the Funimation Channel http://www.funimation.com/ . It plays all kinds of shows with action, romance, and cool songs. Some cable and satelite services have the Anime Network http://www.theanimenetwork.com/ also a good channel with good shows. If you have access to neither (which you might) you should watch Scifi on monday night http://www.scifi.com/anime/ . Not as good as the other channels but not bad. Hope I could help.

um... they don't have a lot of good anime on most channels. So I sugjest to just look online. You can find many good anime I sugjest Elfen Lied it's really gory, really violent, and has some occasional nudety (Just said it just incase you'd be the easily offened type.) The anime you listed are all on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim. Ones on there I sugjest watching is Bobobo, Trinity Blood, Bleach, Blood+ :) If you have the fuse channel they play tenjho tenge and ergo proxy and the are exellent.

    I recommend...OURAN HIGH SCHOOL HOST CLUB!!! ^.^

You can find anime online, like on youtube and also www.veoh.com

Fuse shows two animes. Ergo Proxy and this other one.

Sometimes the classic channels show classic animes like Spirited Away.

CArtoon network does, but you should check your cable provided if they have On Demand for you.

I tried to contact my provided to ask for the anime channel.

    Talk about a rude reply!

  • There are several anime that aren't aired on TV that you can only find online. You should try watching anime online by streaming or downloading. http://www.animaten.com/ has more info.

Hi again! Ok, just like you I've only got into anime recently (last summer). The first anime shows I've watched were on Cartoon Network Adult Swim. Which starts at 10:30 PM till 5:00 AM I think. The shows that I like that I know play on it are Trinity Blood, Fullmetal Alchemist, InuYasha, Bleach, Samurai Champloo, Eureka Seven, & Ghost in the Shell.

It would seem you know the story line for Fullmetal Alchemist (in my oppion the best anime in the world!) & InuYasha.

I don't know much about Eurika 7 because i just started watching it.

But Samurai Champloo is funny & has action, its about 2 samurais (Jin & Mugin) who make a deal with a girl named Fuu & the 3 of them are out to fullfill this promise. There are lots of things that happen to them through this journey & most of the time Mugin & Jin are at each others throuts. I resently finished it & found it good! Its got a lot of adult content thought, just a warning.

Bleach is great too. its about a teenage boy name Ichigo Kurisaki (fun fact: Ichigo means strawberry in japanese.) who has the power (spiritual energy) to see people who have died. His life changes one night when he meet a Soul Reaper (a person who send spirts to The Soul Society (Not really heaven, but kind of like it.) or if they've become evil (a Hallow) destroys them with her zonpacto (I sure thats spelled wrong. sorry. Its a sword.) (Well actually she cleans them of the bad things they did as Hallows. But if they did something bad when they were alive their sent to the underworld.) named Rukia (no one else can see her, but Ichigo can because of his power). She is after a hallow that is attacking Ichigo's family (dad & 2 sisters. 1 of his sisters also has the power to see those dead, but seems to not want it.) when Rukia is injured she give her power to Ichigo making him a Soul Reaper. But he takes more of her power than she expects. Now she is stuck on earth & is helping Ichigo for as long as he has her power (Ichigo can not become a Soul Reaper with out her taking his spirit out of his body.) Of course I've only just learn that the begining episodes are just fillers (the first 26(?) episodes are just to start things off before Ichigo (& his friends) are faced with a real BIG problem. & don't mean Hallows. But I won't tell you what it is cause I don't want to ruin it!)

I don't know to much about Trinity Blood but from what i do know (from watching & stuff i read about it): There is a character named Father Abel Nightroad (father like part of the church) He is part of AX, which is a group of vampire hunters that work for the vadican (church). Well actually not exactly vampire hunters, they kill bad vampires & try to keep the balance. (I would tell you more about Abel but i don't want to spoil any thing). Of course Abel isn't the only one in the AX so you also get to hear about the other AX members. In this show the world is made of vampires & terrans (humans). Most of the time it seems they really don't get a long. & are trying to destroy one another. Theres only about 24 episodes. Its really short & rather violent! But I love it!

Sorry i don't know everything about them but i've only started watching them myself or haven't finished them. My fav.s are Fullmetal Alchemist, InuYasha, Bleach, Trinity Blood, & Samurai Champloo.

I HOPE THAT HELPS YOU!! & IF SO ENJOY!!

Go here this is where I found out about the shows & if you look around you should be able to find out when the shows are playing:

    http://www.adultswim.com/shows/index.html

If you click on the Bleach it will show you a preview. & if you click on Trinity Blood it will show you a part of the first episode. Those both also show the opening & ending songs. Also if you click on Blood+ it will show you a preview if you click Watch The Promo. I really wanna start watching Blood+. But sadly I no longer have cable.

Other shows on Adult Swim that I haven't seen or have but didn't really like:

    Big O

    Blood+

    Cowboy Bebop

    FLCL

    Lupin the 3rd

    Neon Genesis Evangelion

    Paranoia Agent

    S-Cry-Ed

    Trigun

Also if you have cable go to channel 1(that should be on demand.) If you have comcast I know they have alot of anime. Go to The Cutting Edge. & you should be able to find anime. both on Adult Swim & on the anime network things. Of course I'm going off of comcast, I don't really know any others. On demand I've watched (not counting Adult Swim on demand) Boggiepop Phantom, The Detective Loki myth Ramrok (not possative on the name but it is Loki.), Kare Kano(about a Boyfriend & Girlfriend. Its funny), Vampire Princess Miyu (I don't know how to spell her name.)

Other animes I've seen are Chobits & Spiral. I wanna see Ranma 1/2, Gunslinger Girl, Fruit Basket, & I know there are others but I can't think of them. I 've heard Black Lagoon, Blood+, escaflona (sp?), & Evangelion are good. Also Loveless, but thats Yaoi (a boy with boy relationship.)

I can tell you Chobits is about a boy named Hideki Motosuwa who moves to the city so he can take classes in hopes to get into college. This is in the future a ways & their are these things called Persocoms. There basically computers that look like people & they cost alot! Hideki wishes he could have one but he can't afford one. Until one day he finds one in the trash. He takes her home & starts her up (in an embarasing way). He names her Chi because its the first thing she says. But he learns that this is the only thing she can say. It would appear obvious why she was in the trash: she can't talk, she can't do internet, or pretty much any thing else. (though she is cute.) But soon Hideki learns that there is a lot more to Chi then what meets the eye. She may be a Chobit, an AI. She can learn & even seems to have human emotions. Though the secrets of Chi's past is what Hideki & his friends want to find out, maybe its best if they don't & if Chi doesn't remember. & Hideki starts to relize (not through Chi) that maybe persocoms arn't that good & that people can fall in love with them & it only causes others pain. Because humans just can't compete. Warning: There is nudity & adult content.

& Ranma 1/2 is by the same creater of InuYasha. Its about a boy who has a spell on him that makes it so that every time he gets wet with cold water he turns into a girl. His marriage is set up by his father. & him & the girl don't seem happy about the idea that there going to be married. & his future wife does know about Ranma's secret. It shows all the problems that Ranma goes through. Warning: there is nudity.

If you wanna learn about any of these animes. go here. go to the search box & type the name in:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page

Also just so you know (since you just got into this) there are also these things called mangas. There Japanese graphic novels (comic books) that are what animes are based off of. There in japanese format which mean you read them from right to left (instead of the american way of left to right.) But don't let that bother you! The writing itself is writen normal, it just the pages & voice bubbles that go the other way. You can get used to reding that way really fast! I own a ton of these. They only cost $10 a book. & You can get them at Borders Books. In fact there are Fullmetal Alchemist manga. Like I said every anime thats out should have started with a manga. There are 13 FMA mangas out right now. There really good! If you've seen all the Fullmetal Alchemist episodes (there are 51 & a movie) them I suggest you start reading them cause the story changes & I've heard it has an alternative ending (there all already out in Japan.) The FMA anime actually is a lot different from the manga because the anime was finished first & the story line was changed quite a bit. Which means in the manga their new characters & things that never happend (in the anime.) Thought oddly most of the big twists in the anime aren't in the manga. If your interested heres a link to the Fullmetal Alchemist manga:

    http://www.readmanga.com/

Just go down to the writing that says Fullmetal Alchemist.

BTW the story starts off the same. & just to help you, this is how you read it: pg 1 Ed: Al...AL! ALPHONSE!! DAMN IT! HOW COULD THIS HAVE HAPPENED!? THIS... SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPE-... ...DAMN IT!

Narator: A painless lesson is one with out any meaning.

    Ed: I'VE LOST IT...!!

narator: One who does not sacrifice anything can not achieve anything.

Then onto pg 2. Hope that helped! when you get to the last pg you click the down arrow on the chapter & go to the next one.

I learned of Ranma 1/2 & Chobits from mangas.

Other manga I've read or own are: Vampire Knight, Absolute Boyfriend, Millioniam Snow(sp?), Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ranma 1/2, Chobits, Alichino, Alice 19th, Gentlemen's Aliance cross, Cain Saga (the prequal to Godchild), Godchild,

No Need For Tenchi, Inubaka Crazy For Dogs, Loveless, Yurara, Her Majasty's Dog, Yume Kira Dream Shoppe, Baby & Me, Chrimson Hero, Nana.

There are also FMA novels (actual books.) there also a anime novel called Hack. You can get them at borders too in the graphic novels section.

I hope this helped alot! Sorry I wrote so much!! & again if you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Fullmetal Alchemist Roxs!!! (sorry I couldn't help it)

Source(s): Devoting way to much of my life to anime, manga, & Fullmetal Alchemist! What can I say I'm that kind of girl!!
