My neighbours, one on the left of me, and one on the right of me have no driving license should I report them?

One has recently arrived from pakistan, does not have any sort of license he drives his brothers car regularly and has bought a car himself now, he says the insurance is too expensive so he has not bothered to insure it. The other neighbour no licence is a total waster who has bought a car had a few driving lessons and now takes his children out in it, no safety seats etc. An accident waiting to happen? what would you do?.

Update:

The waster came back this afternoon with an 01 reg vauxhall zafira estate, his old car has a for sale label on the window. He couldn't handle his old car and this one is huge, like a minibus/hearse, it si an accident waiting to happen. How do you contact the law to let them know whats happening?.

OF COURSE you report these idiots. What will you think if you ignore this terrible flaunting of not abiding by the laws and you learn they have killed someone? Simply call your local police department and give them all the information that you know for sure and tell them you are not a snitch but just a concerned citizen that is fearful of becoming one of their victims and then pat yourself on the back for your good deed.

By the way don't pay any attention to Fred C's answer, he is an idiot. I bet he is one of those people that does the same thing. It would be interesting to know if he has a valid license and insurance coverage. My money says he doesn't have either. You can report them anonymously and not worry about them knowing they were reported. Let the proper authorities handle it. IT MOST CERTAINLY IS your business, in fact it's your DUTY!!!

i would agonise about it, ask Y!A, and come away none the wiser.

i would just say that, morally speaking, if you shop your two neighbours, you are (a) doing the right thing and (b) totally justified in keeping your mouth completely shut about how the cops found out.

Tell no-one, not even friends or family. If you do, it will leak out. If asked "did you shop me", I seriously recommend lying. I say that as someone who really believes in living a moral life.

Your neighbours, especially the waster, have absolved you of guilt by their actions.

IN fact, if the waster gets done, you might find that the recent arrival pulls his finger out and does his test. That would be nice.

PS don't go and "try talking to them". We've all met people like your "waster", and all you would be doing is trailing the fact that you're the grass. Not worth it.

I would report them - if only because the person they are most likely to run into is you!

You might like to mention to the waster how he would feel if his children were seriously injured in a car that he was driving due to his incompetence. Then again ask yourself how you would feel if you were to allow that to happen.

  • By not having a driving license in they are putting people's lives at risk, what proof is there they are good enough to be on the roads. Plus, no insurance?? That kind of mentality is just not good enough. I'm fine with people coming to this country but they have to play by the rules like the rest of us. Report them.

Report them to police with addresses and reg details as they will have to be caught on the road with no licence or insurance. If car parked on drive nothing can be done. Good luck and hope you get them well and truly off the road for all our sakes.

I think that you have a year to gain a European Driving license if you passed a test in a country outside Europe. There is also what people are telling you to wind you up! If they are using the cars with no proper child restraints then report them for that.

for starters no insurance if he hits your car who is going to pay,, i bet it wont be him,,,,,no licence well dude my friend ended up with heavy ban and fine ,, im a biker and we always seem to get picked on by the law,, more so in some parts of country than others but man if you don't have a licence you just should not drive what if he ran over someone and killed him,, i know what i would do,,, and not let any one know,, you could always pop the tyres for them that ll stop them for a while or put broken bottle in drive way

YES report them some of us have put alot of work, time, effort and money into learning to drive and getting insurance.

It's totally unfair that people drive without licenses they as you said are accidents waiting to happen and is that fair on the us who have spent the money to be legal to drive.

Go to the police station and lodge a complaint that you are concerned about your own safety on the street, they are duty bound to investigate on your behalf.

Ive never been in that position, but I think I would. For no other reason that if they do have a crash, they wont be insured and the other person will suffer. And the guy who takes his kids out is just a total idiot - he could kill them.
