Should there be two separate sets of laws in India?

All this you state here because nowadays you come to know what ever is happening in the various courts & various law enforcement places through the media. Some years back when such media awareness was not there matters just appeared as a small story in the press. People specially the younger generation gives importance to these so-called stars & start making comments in their favor or against them, without understanding the legal position in their cases. Even to certain extend the lower court judges, public prosecutors, & even other advocates get influenced by such media publicity to these cases which is professionally wrong & unethical. I see that one small news regarding any of these so-called stars keep on repeating hundred times just to attract the viewer ship by these media channels. These bloody fool stars have been behaving as Lords or Demigods & indulging all sort of illegal activities. When they got caught by the law enforcing bodies for their wrongs they themselves invite the media to their rescue & get public sympathy. Just see all these ladies around India of any age & any status are having all sort of sympathy for these two film stars Sanjay Dutt & Salman Khan, ask them why? What great these two did that they should be given sympathies? They are only actors & do what ever they are asked to do by the Film directors whether playing role of Munna Bhai or any one else. People go by their screen role & forget they are common guys like any one else & whatever crime they commit they should be punished accordingly. Why should they be treated as some one special & why a separate laws be made for them? If they commit crime the punishment they should be awarded should be more severe which any other ordinary person would have got if he did the same, this is so because as a public personality it’s their responsibility to be more conscience about their activities & should avoid committing such crimes. No bail should be allowed to them & should be asked to serve the jail term even when their appeal or revisions are pending in higher courts against their punishment by the lower courts.

There is only one law in india but unfortunately the rich and powerful can get around these laws.

There is nothing anybody can do about it in a democracy. It appears justice also has a price, and if you are rich enough you can buy it. It's just the way things are, no use complaining because the system is not going to change.

But the Judiciary is doing its best to bring the celebrities, politicians, bureaucrats to justice but since the law is made by politicians who themselvs are law breakers sometimes the judiciary is unable to exercise its powers effectively.

For example, in R.S. Nayak Vs. A.R. Antulay, the delaying tactics adopted by the govt. in failing to give the sanction for prosecution infuriated the supreme court to such an extent that the case was transfered directly to the High Court. But again the case had to be sent back to trial court because the respondent took advantage of technicality of law and claimed his right of revision was being taken away from him.

There is nothing the courts can do because unless the sanction is given by the sanctioning authority which is controlled by politicians the case cannot proceed further. If the sanction is given promptly to proceed against any bureaucract or politicians guilty of corruption or abuse of power the conviction rate would be much better. Also, there is no witness protection program in india which makes people scared to give evidence.

The point is the courts are not to blame because they have to follow the law as laid down by the very politicians and bureaucracts that have to be prosecuted.

I have a very dear friend who is from India. She is 45 and moved to the U.S. about 4 years ago. As much as I like her, I see the way she tries to control her son's life. Her son has been here since he was 17 and he has become pretty Americanized. His mom does not like that and complains about the "Skinny White girls" that he chooses to go out with. I see her getting more and more miserable and I see what it's doing to her son. It is driving him away. You're not going to change her but what you can do is learn to accept her for who she is. Don't allow her to disrespect you but always show her respect. Tell her that you want to get along with her but as long as she's in YOUR home she must show you the respect you deserve. It may alienate her but she's not in India anymore and she needs to get over herself and her sense of entitlement. Good luck with this.

then we can easily form a new indian society

The two-law system seems to be already alive and well in the USA - may be it's something India is aiming at?

These politicians should be overthrown put in jail.

Gandhi didn't go through all that hardship to let them win.
