Following up on question...What person do you think should have one the Oscar for acting that didn't?
I just woke up and the coffee's not ready, someone posted a question about missed oscars and I used up what few brain cells I have on answering the question and the question was withdrawn before I posted so I'll ask it now...lol. Here are a few of mine...how 'bout: Dennis Hopper in "Blue Velvet", F. Lee Emry in "Full Metal Jacket", Bette Davis in "Whatever Happened To Baby Jane", Joaqin Phoenix in "Walk The Line" and of course Billy Bob Thornton in "Sling Blade" of course. Maybe I'll think of a few more after coffee...oh, I think it's ready!

Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction. How John Travolta was nominated over Sam Jackson is a mystery to mean; and just plain wrong.

Horror movies are never nominated for any of the big prizes, yet there are perfomances that should've been recognized in a perfect world. Two standouts for me were Barbara Hershey in THE ENTITY and George C. Scott in THE CHANGELING. Ellen Burstyn was nominated for THE EXORCIST, but everybody knew she wouldn't get it. Ditto Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie for CARRIE. Mia Farrow should've been given a nod for ROSEMARY'S BABY. Ruth Gordon won, but she really should've been nominated and won for HAROLD AND MAUDE, so it was a "consolation prize".
