If Jesus is supposed to come back to earth, what's the purpose of him leaving in the first place?

To see if mankind can elevate himself out of the mire. He wishes for none to perish.

This is a good question. I give you a star. The story is that he will come back to make this the new world. I don't know how heaven will fit into this scheme of things. But he will rule .

Didn't he leave to make room for us in his fathers house! The people here on earth did not accept him as the messiah. In the last 2000 years we were suppose to get our minds in order to accept him those who don't cannot live in his new world. Or something like this.

If He did not leave then Salvation would not be available to the world. If He had stayed He would have had to go around the world for thousands of years preaching about Himself and God in heaven. That means that only a few people would know about Him but none would have Salvation because Salvation requires repentance, receiving Christ as Lord and Savior, and receiving the Holy Spirit (comforter and guide). He had to go away so that we could receive the Holy Spirit. With out the Holy Spirit, though repentance and Christ is received, a person would have to lock onto Jesus and physically follow Him where ever He went in the earth for guidance and comfort. Can you imagine that? Once more He'd have to sustain his flesh body to live forever, which would be in direct defiance of Gods decree that the body should age and die.

God is letting sin play out so that the whole universe can see what the results are. Then there will never be a question as to whether God is fair or not. Sin is transgression of God's law. Satan claimed that God was unfair for throwing him out of heaven and that no one could keep the law. He said he had a better way and has lied to people ever since. Satan's whole plan is to get you....anyway he can....so that you can burn for your own sins. If God had come sooner....there may have still been some question. God is not willing that ANY should perish. He is giving us a last chance.

Jesus could only be in one place at a time while He was human, but the Holy Ghost is every where.

Also, Jesus made the perfect sacrifice in Heaven with His blood, and He is always at the Father's right hand making intercession for us.

God wanted to make a world full of Godly people. When ever a child is born you don't know what he may be like.

Many ancient prophets had very bad children. Such as Eli and even Isaiah. So enough time had to pass to find enough people to comfortably fill the earth with righteous people.

When he gets to that number he kills the wicked and resurrects the good dead ones and there is peace on earth.

1) Jesus went to prepare a place for "YOU", and where JESUS is at, that you might be there also, with him, 2) because your not the only one in the world, there are other people here, that has to hear of the good news of JESUS

I have a feeling that if He were to appear to you in person, you'd be too busy falling all over yourself to blatantly ask Him that question.

2000 years may seem like something to you but to God, it's the blink of an eye.

Because if the story ended 2000 years ago, everyone would stop believing it.

Jesus died for our Sins, and that was his purpose, his second coming should be in the time of Armageddon
