Why do so many people act like angry toddlers about a hamburger when many people in the world are starving?
I'm talking about the Burger King Whopper freakout commercials. It seems like these people are taking things so seriously when it's really a non issue in the grand scheme of things. Just order something else if they discontinue what you wanted.
3 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoAren't firefighters more heroic than Jesus?
When Jesus died, he was only dead three days. When firefighters die, they do not resurrect. Jesus says he only saves people who worship him. Firefighters save everyone, regardless of their religious beliefs. Jesus is omnipotent and omniscient, so everything is easy for him. Firefighters are regular people, so saving people is very difficult for them. When people do great sacrifices like saving each other at the expense of their own lives, they do not resurrect and become divine kings. This makes their sacrifices greater.
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians, what if someone lies and says they believe?
For many people, there are only two options. You can lie and say you believe, or you can be honest and admit you don't. Which is better in the eyes of your god, an honest atheist or a lying Christian?
25 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoI have a question for Christians who believe in evolution?
Why would God start giving souls to people if he was omniscient and knew that most would go to hell? It would be better for the people who lived before souls were given. This is why atheism is a more positive view of life. Atheism says nobody has a soul and therefore nobody suffers eternal fire.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf God never sent Jesus, would everyone go to Sheol in the afterlife?
If rejecting Jesus sends you to hell, then it was a bad thing for Jesus to come at all. It's better for everyone to just be dead.
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf God gave Moses a perfect set of laws, why would Jesus make it okay to eat pork?
You shouldn't change laws if they came from a perfect God. Matthew 15:11 contradicts Leviticus chapter 11.
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf Jesus is supposed to come back to earth, what's the purpose of him leaving in the first place?
What purpose would the last 2000 years have?
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWas God overreacting when he created hell?
I realize he was mad at everyone, but it still seems extreme to create a pit of eternal fire to get revenge.
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf sloth is a deadly sin, why did God rest after creating earth?
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf Christianity isn't a religion, as some Christians have claimed, why does it have a tax exempt status?
I have read Christians saying that Christianity is a relationship or a way of life, not a religion. If that's true, then churches should pay taxes.
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy would the rich man go to hell in the story of Lazarus and the rich man?
If people go to hell for rejecting Jesus, why did the rich man go to hell? Jesus hadn't died yet so the old covenant would still be in place. I'm not a believer. I'm just curious of the interpretation.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do some people say atheists are spiritually hungry?
The idea makes no sense to most of us, because we don't believe in souls. Can someone explain the concept to me without using mysticism or supernatural ideas?
33 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf you could write your own ten commandments, what would they be?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoFellow atheists, I have an idea and want your opinion?
I think that anytime we see a Christian write a question that is very hateful or inflammatory against any non Christian group, we should just respond with "What would Jesus do?"
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy did a perfect God make two very different covenants, like a plan A and plan B?
Okay, what is the point of making a covenant with Israel, giving them over 600 laws to follow, and then turning around and saying, "I knew this wouldn't work the whole time. I need to turn myself into my own son and become a human. Then I need to die a horrible death to help me to deal with my wrath about sin". After he turned himself into Jesus and had himself killed, did he say, "Nevermind, now that I've died and come back alive, I don't care about the 600 laws anymore"?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy did Jesus promote theophagy, and did other Jewish people at the time believe in it?
Theophagy means to eat God.
