Theory of the evolution of the Solar System?
Explain how the theory of the evolution of the solar system explains :
a) All the planets in the solar system are orbiting in the same direction.
b) All the planets in the solar system except Pluto are orbiting in the same plane.
c)The chemical composition of Mercury is similar to that of the Earth.
d) The sun is composed mainly of hydrogen and helium but also contains all the elements found on Earth.
e) Venus has a solid surface, Whereas Jupiter is mainly a mixture of gases and liquids with a small, solid core.
Please help me with these!!

A star exploded. This explosion produced the heavier elements that are found in our solar system.
The left over gases and other material in the space nearby were once again attracted together by gravity.
As they moved together, they accumulated more and more mass and the gases and dust became the sun and planets. The momentum they accumulated during formation produced a rotation of the whole accretion disk and a resulting rotation of the Sun and planets.
There were accidents both large and small. These collisions destroyed some things and banged up others. One such collision tipped Neptune and sent fragments into an orbit slightly different than the other planets. These fragments are refereed to as dwarf planets, and Pluto is the largest of the thousands or so of these fragments.
Another encounter destroyed a planet between Mars and Jupiter and produced the asteroid belt.
One large impact hit Mars and caused it to change its orbit and tilt slightly. Some of the fragments from this his reached Earth as meteorites.
Many thousands of strikes occurred on the Moon. Some of these strikes were deep enough to allow the venting of the Moons core which produced large dark areas on the Moon. Early astonomers refered to these as 'seas.'
Some large strikes occurred on the Earth which affected all life on the planet.
;-D Better keep an eye out for some wandering rock. We don't want to get hit again!

1. could be tied to the rotation of the sun, i honestly dont know.
2. when the solar system started it was a disk of particles, not a big glob. so since it was a disk they all had to form on the same plane. and they now thing pluto was just a huge stray asteriod or something that was effected by the suns and neptunes gravity.
3. the solar system formed from a big mixture of elements so thats not that uncommon.
4. two reaons. for one, when the sun formed some heavier elements were included im sure. second, with all that fusion going on it is bound to fuse a few stray heavier elements.
5. the formed from different parts of the ring of gas. heavier elements were probably drawn close to the sun while lighter ones stayed back. so jupiter was made of lighter elements, which are normally gases, so it would be mostly gas and any solids would sink to the center.

"a" and "b", when you flush your toilet the water revolves in the same direction doesn't it? (Pluto is a captured asteroid)
"e"...Venus is close to the sun, the outer planets haven't had the time to "roast" off their outer atmospheres.
