Am i the only one who thinks passions lost alot of viewers due to going exclusively to direct tv????

Appearantly not, even the fans on the passions website are ticked about it. Viewers should not be forced to go to a cable comepany thats isnt worth the money they ask for.Direct tv is not a good company and i refuse to hang a ugly dish on the side of my house to view this Soap. So passions has lost me as a viewer and i am sure im not the only one

I think they have! I know they have lost me as a veiwer! I don't watch a lot of TV, but Passions was the one show I took time to watch each day. Sometimes the story lines stunk, but overall I liked the show. I am not going to get Direct TV just for ONE show. Cuz I probably wouldn't have time to watch anything else on there anyways! And I grew up in a home that had Direct TV, and most of the time even with a bazillion channels there was nothing great to watch. So I won't be watching it anymore unless it comes back to regular TV.

I think its everyone's opinions to themselves. I already have DirecTV and I love it. The cost is perfectly okay for me and I don't like cable. I don't think having a sat. dish makes a person's house ugly, thousands of people have them and unless you stick them everywhere around your house, they are not cumbersome at all. I personally don't think cable is all that great, myself and locally, cable rates just keep on rising and they keep dropping channels that DirecTV is picking up. Its more cost effective to stay with/keep/go with DirecTV. I love Passions and am excited to continue to watch it. I don't know if iTunes will carry the show anymore either, I thought I read in Entertainment magazine that iTunes and NBC can't decide on price negotiations so those that watch it on iTunes may soon be out of luck there as well. At least DirecTV is trying to keep the show online at any rate. But then again, its everyone's opinions. Many people are going to DirecTV...I don't necessarily think that the move alone is making Passions lose viewers, its the content of the show. They need to liven it up again.

Your right on with this; this is going to happen more and more. The satellite and cable companies are in a price war right now. I have the dish and switching from cable was fantastic. Cable is not good and its way too expensive.

Passions is going to take a huge hit with this; its a risk that direct tv bought their rights and I think its going to backfire.

I wont be bullied into getting Direct TV just to watch a silly soap opera. Two days without Passions & I'm still alive. I don't think it will kill any of us to be without that show.

    yeap

I think now they'll either get cancelled on direct tv.Because all there fans with digital cable and etc have jumped to days, atwt, guiding light, gh, One life and other soaps they never have watched before...It got really weird at the end this year. So I just stopped watching it once they madew Chad GAY

Im just gonna have to follow it online. Soaps.net gives very good updates. It may have been weird and parts very stupid but it was addicting. I'm interested in what happens with the new writters.

  • I didn't watch Passions as often as I had a couple years ago, but I still followed it online...and will continue to do so, since I'm not about to switch to that not-so-good provider.

Nice rant. I don't like Passions b/c it took the place of my soap Sunset Beach.
