How smart is Our Chihuahua?

Smart - and obviously p***ed off with being treated like a doll, lol,.

Smart boy - try buying him a little Tshirt next time or a vest that velcros around him - more comfortable.

Some major misconception on here with the answers, chihuahuas are very smart, that's why they were used in circus acts so much years ago - glad they don't do that anymore, but chis are known to be bright.

As to "the only dog that burrows under the covers"??? You've never had a dachshund obviously. These guys burrow under covers all the time. They were bred to dig and burrow and that's what they love to do.

Lots of smart dog breeds around, people just don't give them credit enough - or take the time to understand why they do the things they do.

Sounds like the dog must have a little smart alec in him. Oh and by the way chihuahua's are not the only dogs who get under the covers. My rat terrier and I am sure many other breeds do the same thing.

Yes, chihihuas are also the only breed that is smart enough to get under blankets when its cold. A tool using animal? Very smart.

chihuahuas are very smart and tend to be a litlte vindictive when thye want to be, i personally feel chihuahuas are more like cats crossed with people in little fur coats...

try putting a sweater on him ONLY when its cold...(below 64 ish) once he realizes it keeps him warm might be ok with putting a sweater on...

not one of mine will EVER wear anything if they dont feel its cold enough, but once the temperatures drop they bring me their sweaters...

I've never met a smart chihuahua, the ones I've owned, and been around seem(ed) mostly brainless to me. Lol, but that just might be because they're so cute and tiny, I didn't take them serious!!!

I have a chihuahua named daisy and whenever I made or bought it a cheap sweater it sipped it off and took it outside and left it there. It had fashion taste. And then I got it an expensive nice sweater and it wouldn't let me take it off him! You should get a more fashionable sweater. Try something from juicy couture.

my husband was making fun of him one day.

he keep play hitting me knowing skipper would get made.

but we were on the bed and skipper couldn't get to justin to bite him, so he went over to a pair of justins pant that were on the floor and peed all over them.
