Basically, no matter how this question is asked and on which side of the fence you're on, it will lead to heated discussion. Which is why it's sometimes better to choose your battles wisely.

I'm still waiting for REAL scientific evidence of global warming.
Al Gore just jumped over the horse he thought it was on its way to win the race. There's a huge incredible support for those "green" ideas.
Don't get me wrong, I think we should be more responsible with the environment. But this is going to far.
As usual, the issue was polarized. You have to be one side or the other. It's not like that, in this case both sides are wrong and Gore is just an opportunist.
Years from now, we'll see more industrial power concentrated in fewer corporations and polluting like crazy backed up by carbon credits bought cheap from agonizing small industries under the weight of the extra cost of the government regulations.
Carbon credit market is a new source of profit for traders and governments. No benefits will come out for the people, the world or the environment.
And it amazes me how happy are all to accept this things because they have a "green" color. It looks like we're all born yesterday. Like we never saw the government failing over and over again in everything it puts its hands to. Why everyone thinks this time it's not going to happen? In what way the government changed the last second?
And I'm talking about all governments and the UN. When have they done something that really worked?

Personally, I think Gore is mostly accurate in his documentary. His science is sound, and he's bringing attention to an important issue. Consider this - a large percentage of carbon in the carbon cycle has always been tied up in carbon sinks in the ground. We mine those sinks for fuel (coal), and burn it at an alarming rate. So not only are we pulling it out of the ground, we're putting it into the atmosphere. We are also paving over half the earth. Pavement reflects heat instead of absorbing it like the ground. It also prevents rain from going straight into the ground. Instead the rain runs along the pavement, picking up debris and increasing in temperature. When the water does finally reach a stream or river, it is warmer than it would have been and carrying all sorts of toxic crap. This increase in temperature causes cold-water species to die off and algal blooms. These are only two points of many! How can we not be changing the world's climate?
But I will also say that although I support Gore in his efforts, I wish he wouldn't have included political propaganda in his film. That makes it polarized, and certain people won't watch it. You can't show it in schools, because someone will complain about the politics. This issue is very important, and shouldn't be scoffed at by Republicans just because it's associated with Democrats. It should rise above party lines. Think for yourself!

Al Gore is a liking cheating bastard. He wants attention and it's a climate pattern it happen in the 1930's. People think that Katrina is proof of global warming but it's not. In the 1970's people thought the world was going into global freezing. Al Gore documentary were full of lies and most of the were computerized.

Climate change is real, and nobody has questioned that. The argument is whether it is attributable to human activity. In the last analysis, why does that matter? It is probably not solely attributable to what we are doing, but can anyone doubt that we are contributiong to the problem?
Underlying the problem are the twin malignancies of pollution and overpopulation. The poor planet cannot deal with exploding billions -- billions -- of occupants with an insatiable thirst for raw materials, energy, water, and, of course and ultimately, economic advantage at any cost.
And the politicos argue about such inanities/insanities as gay marriage, stem cell research and abortion rights. Gay marriage should be encouraged and rewarded, stem cell research hurts no one and benefits people with awful diseases, and the question as to abortion is not whether it should be permitted, but whether it should be required. There are already too many people; children are starving and being slaughtered and horribly treated around the world; senseless, destructive wars are being fought over control of precious resources; human rights are in the garbage can; religious nut cases are strapping explosives to themselves and killing anyone that doesn't agree with their version of divine intent; our own government is spying on us.
It was long ago demonstrated that if you put a few rats in a cage, they get along fine. If you put a lot of rats in a cage, they begin to fight and bite.
Yours truly,
Just Another Rat

A better troll question would be:
If Rush Limbaugh and Dick Cheney were to have a tag-team wrestling match with Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi to determine whether illegal aliens should be taxed to support universal health care, who would provide the best coverage...The Daily Show or Fox News?

Your going to be asking a "troll" question one morning when you wake up and look outside and all hell has broke lose. Global warming is a fact. Save your money and do some traveling and you will see for yourself.

You managed to you use the term "ad hominem" twice, but you can't manage to spell "lying" correctly? I find that disquieting. My own pettiness aside, you're absolutely right.

Maybe. Maybe the person asking a trollquestion is a troll no matter the motive.

Al Gore is getting fat by flying that gas-guzzeling lear jet.
He should ride a bike more to California!
