how can heaven be happy if some people arent going?

what i mean is if a person you love (im not talking about family really...im talking about friends, lovers etc) goes to hell because they did not heed the word of God. if the person cant be told what they need to do to get into heaven because theyre not religious so they dont believe its that important no matter how hard you would tell them. how can someone be happy if that happened? your soul is a part of you so that would include all the love you have. you cant just forget them and not realize where they are so loving them you know you are without them when youre in heaven.

second question: what about pets? they say pets have no soul. if they truly dont how can heaven be a heaven for you if you dont have your beloved pets to share it with?

im just really curious and ive wondered about it for a long time. again its just hypothetical mostly...i want you to really think about it when you answer and pay attention to everything ive explained

Update:

please only those people who believe in heaven and hell should answer.

All of us have loved ones that it seems are bent on going their own way without God. heaven is a place filled with the presence of God and inhabited by the holy angels and saints who have lived for God and treasured Him above their chiefest joy. That is why Jesus said:

"If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple." Luke 14:26

    and again:

"He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

"And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

"He who has found his life (Greek word is psuche = soul) will lose it, and he who has lost his life (psuche) for My sake will find it. "

    Matthew 10:37-39

The truth is, heaven would be a greater torment to the unredeemed than hell, because they would continually be reminded of their own vileness and unworthiness to have anything to do with God and His holy saints and angels.

The time to pray and work for the conversion of souls is now, in this present life. While there is life, there is hope. Once men die, they enter a fixed state that is irreversible. That is what the Bible refers to as eternal judgment.

If you really wish to explore this subject in depth, I can recommend a great online book written over 150 years ago by a woman to whom God granted a special revelation of heaven and hell. Click on the URL at:

I'm sorry, I have to violate your request not to answer even though I don't believe in Heaven or Hell. But I only do so because, having grown up in a fundamentalist Christian home, I've actually heard answers to the question you're asking. So you could say this isn't "my" answer so much as me relaying an answer to you from some of those who -are- believers. I hope that's okay with you, I'm not just trying to be offensive or anything.

That said, some religious folks believe that those in Heaven will be made to forget about the loved ones that didn't make it - God "wiping away all tears", so to speak. Others state that God is able to tolerate the knowledge of lost, suffering sinners because of a "higher perspective" he has, because there's just some reason which transcends human understanding that one need not cry for those in Hell, need not even feel sad about it, and that God will share that perspective with us when we get there.

Those are two spins on it, anyway.

You have a really good question, and I have an answer. So, sit back and try to understand please.

When you are in heaven...you aren't going to be sad. No matter what you aren't because you are going to see your blessed Saviour. Friends that go to hell will be regretting not accepting our Saviour and Lord as theirs. It won't be blamed on you if you told them and they refused. You won't be thinking about all these horrible things in heaven. Jesus will not allow it because everyone will be happy.

Everyone will know about Jesus. The babies, and people who aren't of accountability yet will go straight to heaven when they die because they do not understand because of health problems. No body will have an excuse to why they didn't get saved.

Pets, sadly, do not go to heaven. I thought the same exact thing you did. But, like the last answer, you wouldn't really be thinking about your pets because you have your Lord right there with you.

I have had to try to answer this question for myself also. The best description I heard somewhere is that in heaven, we would be mature enough to realize that they have made their decision by how they lived, and we can't change that. If a person would go to hell, all the good that was in them would be lost, and they would be completely evil, and you wouldn't be able to love them anymore.

I'm not quite sure how it will work. Just have faith that what God has in mind will be the best, even if we can't understand it now, which is hard sometimes.

You can't answer something that you don't run and do not know about. Someone could of been a killer and probably got into heaven, for he seek forgiveness of his sins, and believed in Christ! As for pets they have souls to you ever see all Dogs go to heaven true story!

    Let's put it this way.

Whatever we think is important to us in this life, in these physical bodies with our current limited and partial capacities to understand the full truth and glory and power and meaning of Heaven and the Kingdom of God - just may not, I mean it may be conceivable to imagine - that all these things just may not be as important to us when we get to the other side.

That is part of our transformation, I think - changing how we perceive things. Remember - we are going to a place so beautiful it is "beyond whatever we can think or dream or imagine."

    Hope to see you there!

Well, if you're only looking for answers from people who believe the exact same way that you do than you're not really looking to feel better are you? You're not looking for a new take on things. Here's a good question; why do you think you are so much better than your friend/lover that you would go to heave and he/she would go to hell? Just because you believe in the "right" religion. Please.

Hmm... even if people in my family went to hell it could be sad maybe for a while. But God tells us whoever loves mother and father wife and child more than Him that person is not worthy of God. He promises to wipe every tear from our eye. Trust me the love of God is far greater than the love of any person on this planet.

Philippians chapter 3. Forgetting those things behind and reaching for the mind and the thoughts of Christ. Our aim is to know Christ and the power that lifted him up from the grave. (The Holy spirit)

God changes the heart and the minds of man.

Paul said I just want to know Christ crucified.

I'm a Christian. I believe that when we get to heaven, we won't even remember those in our lives that weren't believers. Yes that sounds stuck up and not considerate of non believers. But we all have a choice, whether to accept Jesus or not. We can't feel sorry for those that don't say yes. Hope that helps.
