1. Replace ALL incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent lights bulbs
2. Replace old household appliances with new Energy Star ones
3. Adjust your thermostat:
Summer when you're home - 74
Summer when you're not home - 77
Winter when you're home - 67
Winter when you're not home - 64
4. Take shorter showers using less warm water
5. ALWAYS wash cloths in cold water -- cold water washes just as well as warm
6. Wash dishes in the sink instead of the dishwasher
7. Re-use paper cups and plates or don't buy them at all
8. Unplug any electronic devices that aren't in use
9. Turn off the lights upon exiting a room
10. Rarely use the AC in your car -- you can save an extra mile or two on gas by leaving the AC off
11. Consider buying a hybrid vehicle
12. Avoid buying vehicles that have AWD/4WD -- vehicles with AWD/4WD get less gas mileage than cars with FWD/2WD
13. Consider buying cars with manual transmission -- most cars with manual transmission get better gas mileage than cars with automatic transmission
14. Buy an electric lawn mower instead of a gas one -- electric lawn mowers emit less CO2 than gas lawn mowers
15. Eat less meat
16. Don't fly to destinations that are less than 500 miles
17. Walk or ride a bike to the grocery store
18. Recycle ANYTHING that has the recycling label on it -- you may be suprised to see what items can be recycled
19. Dry cloths outside on hot sunny days
20. Flush the toilet less often to save water

1. Purchase Green Power from your electricity provider or install solar panels on your roof and have them connected to the grid.
2. Offset: This could be either tree planting or some other kind of offset like avoided landfill. Do an internet search.
3. Avoid flying
4. Avoid driving, cycle more or catch public transport. If you have to drive buy an efficient car like a smart car.
5. Buy less packaged or heavily processed food
6. Compost so that your food wastes don't go to landfill and release methane gas ( potent greenhouse gas)
7. Grow some of your own food so that it doesn't need to be trucked to your local shops
8. Start being politically active to encourage your government to do something about climate change
9. Install water and energy efficient appliances
10. Consider a rainwater tank.

The best things to do at your home are get a low flow shower head, or just turn the water down when taking a shower, buy compact florescent light bulbs (all the old problems that these bulbs had are gone in the new ones), and unplug things like TVs and computers when not using them for days at a time. This has brought my energy use down a ton and should start you off great in helping slow down global warming.

Stop what! Global what ! And you are how old? Do a search on past ice ages, check out time mag in the 70s and Early 80s , Back then we where heading for a new ice age by 2000 or 2020. IT made great news at the time all backed up by science! You can get this all by asking past ice ages .

Wait until the winter and the climate will change, I guarantee it.
Actually, there's a guy who's found a way to create energy from salt water. If it works, the environmentalists will start complaining about the use of salt water. They don't care about the environment, they want to cripple progress and keep poor countries poor.

Sadly there isn't really all that much an individual can do to solve the problem.
Convince your government to implement a carbon tax so that people have to pay to release CO2 (thereby giving an economic incentive to find another way).
If you're country has any anti-nuclear policies then getting them changed would also help a lot (we're going to need nuclear power to solve the problem).

sell your car, use less electricity, recycle more, use less water, install a solar panel, and many other things. But probably the most important one: use your brain.

simply reduce your impact on the earth and you can help stop global warming. Don't waste paper. Get outside more and dont use electronic devices as much.

Nothing. It is either coming or it isn't, and there is nothing we can do about it- it is too late.
But if you want to save energy, change light bulbs, take short showers, don't mow your lawn, turn off appliances you don't need, and always buy energy efficient models.

It's part of a natural cycle that has been going on for millions of years. The powers are work are FAR greater than any of us can impact..
