using the word racist correctly?

The Jena 6 are hoodlums that were over-charged,I concede;but this highlights reverse discrimination that we call "racism."It is so taboo now to be a "racist."The funny thing is based on my life experiences,I've found most people are indeed "racist."

It is politically incorrect to be open about it;so we pretend it's not there, until some event unleashes it. Please do explain to me why we whites are taught we should be so ashamed of what people that have lived before us did? If you're white, you cannot say "******,"yet that is one of the blacks' favorite words to use. If you're white living in a predominately black city and you see 90% of murders committed by black people, black people shooting at RESCUE HELICOPTERS,black people breaking into your uncle's bar (near the convention center, very thirsty in that heat,so they drink everything EXCEPT the tequila and THE WATER!)

Does anyone remember the "Chocolate City" speech? Imagine if a white mayor had made a "Vanilla City" speech.

Update:

I AM FROM NEW ORLEANS,LA-My point is the whole concept of what racism is today is out of warp. I will be seen as a racist to those that don't have to deal with the same dilemma I face. I don't think all black people are bad. The one's down here seem to only re-enforce the stereotype. I've been to the north, the blacks are educated up there. It's not the same here, and no it is not my job to educate them. This city has been in economic recession since the blacks gained power, though I will concede much of it is due to white flight; but, the blacks surely haven’t been able to turn it around for themselves. That’s it, they don’t seem to work for themselves! There are so many of them, that’s what makes it hard, it is the minority of blacks here that actually do something. When Jesse Jackson came down here with his workers, only 3% or so were actually from New Orleans, they don’t want to help rebuild their city. See what happened in Houston with our refugees? Skyrocketing murders!

Update 2:

That’s what we respectable citizens have to deal with. Most of the blacks down here are sitting and waiting for a handout. Explain how I am not supposed to be "racist." I dislike those that are both impolite and that contribute nothing to society’s well being; and in my experience most of those people are black. It is wrong though to call me a true racist. I don't hate all blacks, I appreciate jazz, which they did created; if one is polite, I respect them, it’s that simple, black or whatever. Work on a pragmatic approach to what constitutes racism, America! Oh and this thing won’t even let me type in the “N” word, even in quotation marks. That is exactly what I’m talking about.

i agree with alot of that.....the racism against whites in our culture is widespread and accepted although most people would never acknowledge that fact....

the statements if hear the jena 6 protestors making on cnn are laughable.....i can't believe the major media outlets cater to this kind of politically "correct" horse manure....a white person would never be allowed to make these statements about blacks on tv.....blatant racism and noone bats an eye....

cheers to you for saying what most will not....it take dialogue to get people talking, and that's a start....

I understand and agree with some of your points. I only wish that everyone would take the blinders off and look at the world for what it is. As a black person I see every day how I am portrayed in the media and therefore can completely understand why white americans would have a negative idea of what being black is about. I'm sure that there are situations in which whites are personally subjected to violence at the hands of blacks and that these situations only go to further enforce what the common perception of black america is. A person has to want or care to have a different perception in order for there to be any enlightenment and as a white person dealing with your own struggles I see little reason why you would or should want to.

It must be understood that black people are in a race that they can never win. if you were "used" for centuries in providing manual labor(slavery) to build a powerful and profitable nation and then not allowed to share in its power or profitability you too would be at a distinct disadvantage. Please remember that we are not even 50yrs removed from the civil rights movement when we were first allowed to ride buses, eat, drink, congregate with the likes of white america. If you think about it you'll realize that in the 500+ year history of the united states we have only legally been allowed basic human rights for less than 10% of that time. We are starting a marathon 400+ years behind and white america wonders why we aren't able to compete in the race to prosperity.

My people are not perfect but these unqualified generalizations you attach to us are unfair. There are some times when it is best to try and understand a persons plight before rushing to judgement. Just as there are "hoodlums" in the black community there are just as many in white america. The issue is that there are so many successful portrayals of white americans in the news and media that they more than offset the bad few. With blacks, the only information that ever makes it to the national media is that of the negative variety. There are not hardly enough portrayals of what is good about us to make a dent in our public perception.

    On another note:

I've never understood why white people make issue about not being able to use the "N" word. Forget the politics surrounding the issue. The black use of the word has a completely different definition than that of white americas definition. We both know that and for white america to make an issue of not being able to call us the "N" word sickens me. The fact that your life seems somehow incomplete because you are not allowed to publicly disrespect me is a great reminder of just how little progress has been made in this country.

Every person is an individual. If we could judge them as such the world would be a great place.

Well I must disagree with your assessment of being over charged. Any time you have 6 person beating 1 person, it has the potential of death.

It should be the amount of force they they know, or should know would cause the death of someone..

Just because he didn't spend a month in the hospital does not negate the attempt by them to put him there, or worse.

There is no such thing as "Reverse Racism" or "Reverse Discrimination". That would imply that someone has a right that others do not. If a White person discriminates against a black person, its called discrimination. The opposite is also true, still discrimination.

I agree that the whole racism concept is out of whack, so are Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson.

Actually, the shooting at rescue helos is an urban legend.

I see your point, and yes an enormous double standard does exist when it comes to race relations.
