Why does media report approval rate for Bush of only 29% , but no report of congress' low 11% approval rate?

I find it odd that it is never talked about in the main news locations. But in the very same same poll to the very same people that says bush only has a 29% approval rating, the congress has only an 11% approval rating. Interesting that almost 3 times as many of us think the president is doing a good job as those who think congress is. Any answer as to why congress low ratings and the disparity between the two is not shared with us in the same breath as the presidents #'s are?

I amnot huge conspiracy fan- but does it make one wonder about the allegations of media bias?

Update:

wow sky -- I am not in the 30% - i'm in the 71% disappove

Update 2:

G- great answer!!!! It was what I was looking for--- have to ask paul harvey he reported on the new one today that caem out this week- but yes he is sort of a conservative - though he did talk about a guys d*** today lol

no one should think I am glad that congress in only at 11% - man how embarrassing- even bush 30 and congress at what ever -says alot about how screwy they all seem to be-

It's not popular right now to imply that anyone in America could possibly be hated more than the current President. The Media reports what they think most people want to hear. If they tacked on "Oh, and we all hate the Congress, too" it turns the story into something anti-government when we all like to feel that we're really patriotic, it's just that guy Dubbya mucking the country up.

I find it amusing that your question doesn't explicitly state that you support Bush, yet several of your replies are as abrasive as if you'd posted "OMG BUSH IS TEH BEST!!!" My favourite is the one telling you to shut up, because that's definitely a mature way to deal with people who present you with information that doesn't neatly fit with your world-view - just scream at them until they go away. Nice.

All Media is biased one way or another. Some are more obvious than others, but at the end of the day it's good to remember that all Media outlets have an agenda, and at the end of the day it's to make money and air whatever sells. (Trying to stir public sentiment and enact policy change can sometimes be secondary goals.)

Media bias is what it is. Even though the media covers it up, most already know, this Congress is a do nothing congress, has not keep any promises. All they have done is witch hunt and keep trouble going since they walk through the doors, they could care less about the promises they made to the people who voted for them. As for as doing their jobs, it is a joke. Gets more and more like a soap opera every day, instead of people who are in the positions of authority that is suppose to be working for the people. Real mess!!

It is reported in the news - I read it again yesterday in the Sacramento Bee. Everyone who is paying attention knows the numbers for Congress are worse than the President's. So what? Have you done anything even remotely patriotic, like writing or emailing any of your elected representatives? Have you bothered to even consider any candidate or platform other than those that begin with R or D? The media isn't doing ANY reporting on third party (plus) candidates. There are over 30 official political parties in the USA fielding presidential candidates - can you name even one of them not an R or D?

Source(s): There are several researchable web sites - type 'political parties in America' and you will be on the right track.

OOhhhhh, a toughy. enable's see, infants, we could perform a little math. The so called mainstream media must be called, wait, what's the observe, liberal?? and somewhat some might additionally evaluate congress to be..... liberal? So, this is form of like the army arresting people interior the army for harming the enemy. Oh wait, this is exceeded off too. Ummmm, enable's see, yet another analogy? Oh, this is one. this is like people being elected to supposedly help united states of america as an entire, and rather merely waits tens of millions and billions of dolaars for issues like a $50 million dollar butterfly backyard in Alaska. I advise heavily, do you think of Alaskan's are giong to offer up scaling down timber and eating pine merely so they are in a position to look on the butterflies? C'mon people.

Pure and simple, the mainstream media has an ultra liberal bias and an agenda to destroy Bush and anything he stands for to get a Democrat elected president in 2008. They don't care that their hypocrisy is putting our nation in danger and destroying a lot of good things this administration is trying to accomplish for the nation just because of a political agenda. They are not going to show us anything that contradicts their ideology and political agenda.

Two reasons for that. One, the President is a higher office & it's a singular office and it's easier to "point a finger" at a single person than a big fat group. And, Two, the press, in general, does not like the President or Republican party members so they want to trumpet that number over the number for Congress. Pretty childish, really.

  • because Bush occupies the highest, most visible office, and Congress is 435 people......people may have a low opinion of Congress, but a majority think their own Representative is great.....it's all the others they don't like.

I wouldn't be proud of the fact that I am part of that 30%--if I were you.

The man is an embarrassment to the country. And those that continue to support him are nothing more than natural born idiots.

Not in the medias interest since the dems hold both houses, but if repubs controlled both we would never hear the end of it.
