How do you cheer yourself up when you've been dumped?

My bf was my first interracial relationship and I believe he dumped me bc his folks didn't agree with us to being together. Everything between us were going wonderful until I met his parents who were not interested in getting to know me. He denies it had anything to do with his parents of course but he avoided me for weeks, ignored my messages, telling me he was busy at work. I finally caught him with his new girlfriend who happens to be white like him at a restaurant. That's when he had to tell me he fallen in love with someone else and that is over. He hoped that I could forgive him and told that we should keep our distance. He seems to be pushing me out of his life. He wants me to take a vacation or meet somebody else. He went from warm, loving, caring person to a totally different person who no longer cared about me or my feelings. He continues to avoid me, saying there was nothing more to say. He was busy at work.

    hey mami, whats up hope that u be ok. dont get depressed. I hate when parents are like that. if u are black , then the parents of ur bf or gf wont accept u cuz of ur color.. it goes vice versa too... but i have never encounter that cuz im from the bronx new york. and all of the people that are here hispanics or blacks.. few white ppl... I dont have ne thing against the white ppl or anything, just that in here are very few white ppl.

    well getting to ur lil problem... dont worry if he dumps u cuz of his parent, is a stupid thing. hes not worth ur time... ur a nice girl, and a special girl... so u deserve a special guy. Just hang out with positive friends that make u feel better. I know that at first u gonna be kinda sad.. but it will go away in 3 weeks. there are plenty of guys out there that will do good by ur side. so dont u worry.

    if u need a friend to talk to im here... I love to help out the people..

    here is a lil poem so u can cheer up!

    Often the goal is nearer than

    It seems to a faint and faltering man;

    Often the struggler has given up

    Whe he might have captured the victor's cup;

    And he learned too late when the night came down,

    How close he was to the golden crown.

    Success is failure turned inside out -

    The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,

    And you never can tell how close you are,

    It might be near when it seems afar;

    So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -

    It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

    If he lets his parents make his decisions for him, he is a child not a man; you deserve better. There is no sense rehashing the past; he is apparently done with you, for whatever reason. Now show him and show yourself that you are done with him. Find a new man, black or white, doesn't matter, just someone strong who is his own person. I wish you the best!

    I open itunes and go to the radio section. Then I go to 50's and 60's pop. It works great.

    If you want to cheer your self up take a vacation or do something entertaining by yourself. Just clear your mind. Don't think about the past think about the future. If he continues to ignore you and he wants to talk to you just ignore him like he ignored you. Trust me on this one.

    Well, I am sure that his family's reaction affected him. But some of the things that I have done is to surround yourself with people who care about you, go to the gym, go to church, and vent with your girlfriends. Move on! it is easier said than done, but you'll feel better moving on, than trying to make someone love you. Good Luck!

    Just do something else that has nothing to do with him. I had the same thing happen to me and I got my mind off of it by doing some painting.

    My first thought was he isn't worthy of your feelings, so don't let yourself be upset by his spinelessness. Go out and have wild crazy sex on more than one occassion and with more than one man and atleast feel bad about something that made you happy....

    He doesn't sound like the right one for you. Keep looking, lots of fish in the sea.
