Democrats Pledge to Extend Minimum Wage
--------------------
fact - Samoa Was Exempt
INCLUDING 12 Years under a Republican Majority.
my statement was :
"Pelosi dose not have the power to exempt just one company from the minimum wage increase"
That is still true.
Congress as a whole does and has exempted all of Samoa just like it has in the past.
Galts argument was that Pelosi used her powers for her own benefit - which I said was untrue

The company was Starkist, out of American Samoa, there were a few different rules governing the minimum wage due to life there being a whole lot cheaper. Because of the the new minimum wage would have been more than anything else on the island paid. Thats only half the story though, it seems Pelosi didn't add anything to the amendment, Samoas exemption from the minimum wage was in place for 12 years before, even during Republican administrations.
The link below tells both sides of a not too pretty story. But is only peripherally involved with Pelosi

convinced this understanding is actual and Pelosi actual stated it the different day. She stated that she could paintings with Congress to close this loophole to make Del Monte and Starkist pay the hot minimum salary. the reason they were not obligated to finish that earlier is the very undeniable reality that maximum of their exertions is done in American Samoa and different US territories, that were exempt from the minimum salary contained in the previous. Pelosi stated that she could paintings to close this loophole and make the minimum salary observe to US territories as well as US states.

What's interesting about this attack on Pelosi is that exemption would only affect 1 plant in her district. Do you really think it's that big of a deal.
I think there was probably another reason to exempt Somoa, was this tiny island exempt in previous minimum wage increases? How about other bills?
I say there are to many questions, I will do further research on this and will let you'll know what I find.
Thanks justagrandma.

It's the typical crap we've seen going on with most politicians.
We need some stronger watch groups that will take people like Pelosi to task, get stuff like this reversed and them out of public office for the rest of their lives.
What I would like to know is where are all the small groups of people through out this Nation that are against this type of behavior. We need to unit for the good of the people.

Well that's politicians for U. Liberal Democrats in this country are hyper-hypocrites.U get what U vote in. We need a multi-party state in the U.S.A. A.S.A.P. or we are all going to to sucked in by those on top of us.
