health insurance is an oxymoron, why make the insurance companies richer than they already are? I say close down every single health insurance provider, and all the money given them for something they don't provide should then go into the general fund to pay for universal health care for this country's citizens. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness includes the right to health, how can you have any of the others without health? After dismantling health insurance robbers, take the life long free health care away from the senate and the house, take away thier lifetime full pay retirement, and you will have the money to take care of every citizen's need for health care. These guys are supposed to SERVE US, instead WE are paying for them being served. I am tired of being a SLAVE to my government and not being supported in my right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.
I am a Registered Nurse, and I cannot afford what my employer is forced to asked of me to pay for health insurance, right now at least, I don't HAVE to, but if I am, then I will have to quit and go on welfare, I won't be able to AFFORD to work to support myself.

What country are you in? In the USA it's not mandatory. If they make it mandatory, I think three things will happen:
1. Small business employers will cut their full-time work staff because they can no longer afford as many employees since they are having to pay health insurance premiums.
2. Small business employers will try to skirt the law by cutting their full-time employees' hours to part-time so that they don't have to provide health insurance.
3. Some small businesses will simply go out of business because they want to do the right thing but can't afford the skyrocketing cost of health insurance.
So my vote is NO. That's socialized medicine and I don't think the USA will take too well to that.

NO!! People choose to go without it because everything else is so freaking expensive!Even for a single person working a part time or full time job that doesn't offer it never mind throwing in a family with kids health insurance is usually what's left out so people can survive. How can the government force this on us while screaming at making us invest for retirement? With WHAT??? And what about the insurmountable hypocriscy of US having to PAY for it while THEY get it FREE.What do politicians care since they get HI free, mandatory insurance means they get good press saying they've taken care of all the illegals and underprivalged without raising taxes. We can still have universal health care for everyone with the goverment paying for it like every other country does WITHOUT sacraficing quality care. And another thing: since the bill with mandatory is being stuck on the people don't you think another plus is this frees the government from medical liability?? We fought a revolution over no taxation without representation what do you think mandatory insurance is? We're not even VOTING on this crap!!! and what happens if people honestly can't afford this?? throw them in jail? WAY TO GO YOU DAMN DEMOCRATS!!!
PS what about people who have pre existing conditions? If ANYONE pays through the nose for health insurance it's US. People born with any condition should be covered instead of being forced to pay more.
PPS what about dads paying alimony and child support?????

It is nice to have health insurance, but to be forced to buy it, or rent it i might say, is not something good to have fall upon others.
It is true, that we do not know when or if we will be sick, but our country has been doing good on other such programs and even if everyone, who honestly could afford health insurance would obtain it many, i am sure, would fall into a low income state when the required fees, before the insurance kicks in, are not able to be met which might cause even more problems.
Also, if i am correct, they had to pass the law, by Obama forcing it to happen, before they even read what was inside the book on how it would work which makes it very unlawful and unconstitutional

One way or another the un-insured individuals place a heavy burden on the health care system. Instead of waiting until they are ill and require hospitalization, preventive care certainly is the humane way to treat our citizens. The Medicaid system provides care for the poor and disabled, but the working poor require an option. It seems inappropriate to provide free medical care for the wealthy, however the medicare systems does just that. Everyone over the age of 65 regardless of wealth receives free benefits. Why we supplement the rich is ridiculous.
It's a big problem that requires a solution and soon.

Health care should be available to everyone, but before we agree to pay for it with our tax money, I believe the fraud involved with the current programs needs to be stopped. There are a lot of instances of overbilling to Medicare. Many people that have good paying are using government paid medical services due to loopholes in the laws. Hillary and company need to fix the existing system before creating a much larger one.

Your question is a little vague. Mandatory for whom? Who is going to pay for it?

Yes for the people that cant afford it it should be
