Tired of School Shootings!?
I am sick and tired of hearing about kids being killed by their classmates. I have a solution. Train several staff members in every high school in America to use a firearm , give them each a gun, and from now on any student walks into school with a weapon gets shot on site until dead. People have to realize that shooting up schools or for that matter anywhere is NOT OK! Anybody agree? If not, what's your solution?

As a victim of the Dawson College shooting in Montreal, this subject has always been a tender one. But someone once told me that if more people had guns [legally obtained,] people would be less likely to use it in a hateful way, as there would be a dozen or so people there to shoot the guy who opened fire for no reason.
I myself don't know what to believe. Anything people suggest can go either way.
Definitely, people should be more sensitive to bullying, and stopping it. Get help for the victim AND the bully them self, because obviously there's something wrong there! I mean, when the last Harry Potter book was to come out, some schools hired psychologists to be in the school while kids read the book, to help "cope with Harry's possible death." WTF? Why can't they do that towards BULLYING! People have their priorities messed up. I'd rather be psychologically messed up from a character dieing in a book than how I am today: psychologically messed up from being in a shooting that was brought on by a man who was bulleyed in the past.

Allow any teacher or staff member of the school, if they wish to do so, to obtain a certified Concealed Carry permit, if state law allows it, which would ensure that they are properly trained in the handling and firing of their weapon, and are fully aware of the laws governing it's proper use and the situations in which it can be used.
These guns CANNOT be placed in a desk drawer, a purse or a car where they might be stolen, and while the teacher/staff member is on campus, the weapon must be carried on the person of the teacher/staff member, ready for immediate use.
In order for this to be effective, ALL students must be made aware that some of the teachers/staff are armed and willing to use their weapons if and when the situation warrants.
p.s. - The best way to end bullying is to stand up to the bully and beat the crap out of him. If he's bigger than you, sneak up behind him with a baseball bat and hit him in the side of his knee!

Outside of putting staffed metal detectors at every entrance at every school in the nation, there really isn't anything that can be done. People don't want to spend the money for it.
Its time for everyone to start taking responsibility for their actions. People say that a week before this latest shooting the gunman was saying he'd "shoot up the school". Its time to recognize the warning signs and stop this "code of silence". Its time to stop trying to rehabilitate everyone and let some rot in jail. He should never have been released from the mental hospital that he attempted suicide at.
People have to pay attention to warning signs and tell everyone they can. He had been wearing a gun clip to school a few times before this happened. Everyone has to tell their children that sometimes you HAVE to tell people what is going on before someone else gets hurt. It starts with the young so we better get ready for the long battle ahead of changing people's thinking about "what is right" and realize its about "what needs to be done".

Yes I'm sick and tired, we as young parents are doubting if we'll ever send our kids to school. You thought private schools were more safe, esp. the Amish. But i guess not, there sure are some crazy individuals out there. There should be tighter restrictions on gun possession. Maybe that'll help. And also much more harsh punishments.I'm talking harsh,so that anybody else thinking about it would STOP and really THINK.

I grew up in a house full of guns. As a matter of fact my dad is a lifetime member of the NRA. I plan on joining as well but haven't gotten around to it. My point is that nor my siblings or myself have ever played with guns or stole them from my parents. We grew up respecting guns not treating them like toys that are meant to be played with. The problem is the parents, not the kids.

Yup, more guns are the answers! Give them out to everyone, all adults especially.
Let's train a teacher to handle a gun, and one day this teacher, just like any human being, loses his temper, takes the gun out and shoots all his or her students on a whim. Great solution.

Schools also need to start stepping up and actually put a stop to bullying. Get real help for kids that are clearly messed up. And take threats seriously. This boy in Cleveland made threats. Obviously it was taken to lightly.

Yes, armed teenagers in schools would be a great solution. Just imagine all those people running around without fully developed impulse control with guns in their pockets. Woo Hoo!!
You wouldn't have to worry about school shootings for long because they'd all be dead in a month. "You talked to my boyfriend, you slut!" BANG! "You touched my shoe!" BANG! "What do you mean I can't copy your homework?" BANG!

Take the time to raise your kids properly.
I think that might work.
