  • Help, how does one break an egg without getting pieces of eggshell in the egg?

I watch chefs on TV break eggs all day long and they never seem to have this problem. 9 times out of 10 when I break an egg I get one or two tiny pieces of eggshell in the egg. I generally just bang the side of the egg on the edge of the pot or bowl, split it apart and dump in the egg. What am I doing wrong?

  • Why do some drive so slow?

I always wonder why some drivers drive 5; 10; or even 15 mph below the speed limit when the weather is clear, the road is dry and its broad daylight. Its usually in an area where you can't pass and traffic just piles up behind them. It seems either they are terrified to drive, or they just don't care that they are holding up everyone behind them, or they are deliberately trying to make people angry. Any other ideas? Maybe someone who does this could enlighten me?

  • another broken promise?

The news just came out on Yahoo that over 3 million seniors may have to switch drug plans whether they like it or not because theirs may be eliminated. I seem to recall Obama preaching how no one would have to change their health plan if they are happy with it. Just another lie from a liar? And save the banter about Fox News, it came from Yahoo news, not exactly a bastion of conservative ideals.

  • Is being inherently positive healthy or a lie?

Some say one should always focus on the positive in life. Isn't ignoring the negatives in life just as damaging as only focusing on the negatives? After all if we don't deal with the problems, how many problems will ever be solved?

  • What's wrong with this picture in Arizona?

70% of Arizona citizens want the new immigration law, yet so-called thousands protest it? First, where is the coverage of the 70%? Second, I'm guessing many of the "thousands" protesting it are illegals, which brings me to my question. The vast majority of citizens want the law, but a large number of non-citizens are trying to tell the citizens they shouldn't have it???????Am I the only one who thinks there is something drastically wrong with this picture? No doubt , some protesters are citizens, but not more than 30% of the state. In an election, the 70% would be considered a landslide victory. Who do these illegals think they are telling US citizens what laws we can and can't have? Or perhaps we can do the same and go to Mexico and demand they pass a law making it illegal for any Mexican citizen to go the USA illegally.

  • What a different approach to the problems in Tennesee, why?

Anyone see pictures on Youtube of the flooding in Tennessee? The stadium is flooded, the downtown and dozens of businesses flooded, neighborhoods underwater and of course homes destroyed, people died trapped by the floods, roads under water or destroyed, railroads destroyed, farms, crops, and livestock destroyed. Sounds like Katrina doesn't it. Yet, there is no apparent looting, no one screaming for FEMA or the government to come fix everything, no one demanding free trailer housing and supplies and money, no one blaming Obama or accusing him of hating central Tennessee white people. These people are taking care of the problem themselves, they are helping each other, they are going to rebuild, they are going to see this through without playing the blame game or playing any race card BS. Even the left biased media ignores them, they gave them 15 minutes of coverage!!! 15 minutes for tens of millions of dollars in property damage, people killed, etc. In other words a disaster on the scale of Katrina, and yet I didn't even know how bad it was until someone E-mailed me the pictures. Why the dramatic difference and why doesn't the media support these people with coverage and portray them as the heroes they really are? If you want to see the pictures check out "Nashville Tennessee Flood 2010" on Youtube. IMO this doesn't fit the leftist medias agenda, so they ignore it as they so often do. As for the different approach to the problem, these people (by the way, there are several races affected by this disaster, black and white included) rather than cry victim, decided to do something for themselves. Remember the coverage of Katrina? Day after day after day of Bush bashing and racism accusations and "Why isn't the government here to save us all?"

  • School in RI hires back teachers....why?

With only 7% of its students able to pass state math testing and years of miserable failure, the board fired the whole staff. Good move. But alas, after so called talks with the teachers union, they decided to hire everyone back. Big mistake. I think what really happened is the union strongarmed the board and scared them into rehiring the staff at once again the expense of the students who obviously are not getting an education. Too bad, the students who have been in that school year after year can't go back and get a second chance...why should the teachers get what apparently has been 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc chances year after year to fail these kids? When is someone going to think of the kids first and stand up against these vicious, self-serving teachers unions once and for all? People keep screaming for more money for the schools...more money isnt the answer when you have a staff like the one at this school, all the money in the world won't help. You thoughts please.

  • Liberals, I want your opinion please.?

I always hear liberals talk about social equality. I get the feeling liberals think everyone should get the same paycheck whether they work 2 hours or 50 hours, whether thev'e earned a college degree or refused to finish high school, whether they work hard, or don't work at all, whether they have years of experience or just entered the workforce. Am I correct in this and if not why do liberals always want the government to take from those who have earned something and give it to those who have done little or nothing to earn something?

  • Social Security....what security... and now health care?

We have all been ripped off. The government has raided the social security funds to the tune of 100s of billions, even trillions of dollars and what remains are many IOU's. Social Security?? What security is there in an IOU? And now, many want to trust this same government to fund and run our healthcare??? Talk about letting the fox run the hen-house? Are some people really that naive, or do they just have another unseen agenda? What do you think?

  • Obama admin. anti education?

Any time a conservative disagrees with any democratic education scheme or plan or part of a plan for any reason, he or she is labeled "anti-education". The Obama administration just anounced a massive overhaul and even a doing away with the "no child left behind" program supported by President Bush. Now by the democrats own standard, that would mean Obama and his administration would be labeled "anti-education". Do you agree? If not, why the double standard? I'm not saying the program doesn't need improvement, I personally think it does(which I guess means I am anti-education). I just want to expose the blatant double standard always imposed on conservatives.

  • Remember the promises?

Remember when Obama promised to bring the troops home from Iraq. Well he just anounced he wants another 33 billion dollars for the war in Iraq and Afgahnastan. I'm sure he just forgot about his promise. Saint Obama couldn't possibly have lied to America. He was probably so busy getting a dog for the White House and apologizing for America, it just slipped his mind. What do you think?

  • A bit risky isn't it?

No offense to those kind enough to provide answers, but I am amazed at how many people are asking serious health questions on here and trusting total strangers who may have no medical training or experience whatsoever to correctly diagnose their problems. I would suggest at least checking with a doctor before following the advice of anyone on here about serious health issues.

  • Your favorite spooky movie?

Just for fun, what is your favorite scary or "haunted house" type movie of all time? I'm looking more for paranormal type movies here, not blood and gore movies like Saw. My favorite is the original "The Haunting" done in the 60's. It would appear corny by today's standards, but for what it was at the time, it was awesome IMO.

  • Thank you Mr. Obama!!?

I want to personally thank President Obama for proving something significant. Since the "cash for clunkers" program is virtually a tax rebate, anyone who utilizes it gets up to $4500 in taxpayer money. This in turn has sparked the auto industry, some are hiring more workers or bringing back laid off workers, cars are selling, some consumers are spending again, and at least part of the economy improves. Thank you for proving what republicans have been saying for decades, that if you lower taxes, in this case by returning a substantial amount of money to the taxpayers, the economy improves. Any opinions?

  • Is this guy swift or what?

Hear about Joe Biden giving away the location of the secret hideaway for vice-presidents in case of attack? This guy is brilliant, I sure do feel safe with him second in command. He makes Bush look like the greatest president ever.
