Why do we see so many ex Jehovah's Witnesses wanting to expose what it is really like to be a Witness?

OK, i DID ask an ex-JW

My sister was a JW for 15 years and left. When i asked her why she said she didn't know. She said that the world offers so much that looks good and she can't let it go, and sometimes she will have a go at them because she doesn't have a good reason for leaving. After she told me this she told me never to leave. It was weird as she said after leaving JW's she couldn't find a decent religion to turn too and the people she met have been malicious and horrible. Her opinion of why she is abusive to JWs sometimes is because she is bitter of the fact they follow standards she is too lazy to follow (her words, not mine!).

I've never spoken to another ex-JW but when i read what they say i often find they lie and swear a lot and people associate their sayings with fact and to be honest taking someones bias words as fact is the worst way to go. I love it when people ask me about JW's because i can give them facts and my own opinions, i do not mix them together.

someone asks an same question some weeks in the past, so this is a paste of my answer: As an Ex Jw, i'm interested in questions about the religion. Many questions I in basic terms study and do not reply, yet some situations i think impelled to respond to others because I see many deceptive solutions from JW's. JW's are continually searching for the great thing about the "employer" and in doing so that they now and again provide "waterdowned" and "1/2-actual" solutions to questions. when I see this habit, I remark to set the record immediately. I achieve this with the intention to help those who would properly be led into the employer less than fake pretenses. i'm no longer overly in contact with conserving human beings from starting to be JW's, finally, i imagine God classes and leads human beings as he sees in good structure. although, I do sense that if someone needs to grow to be a JW, they ought to comprehend precisely what they are getting themselves into, and this skill understanding the strong and undesirable of the employer. i imagine with actual concepts they could be more suitable likely to make a more suitable ideal decision about faith. i comprehend a lot of human beings Ex Jw's can in basic terms want we knew before our baptism into the employer, what all of us comprehend now. it would want to have saved us from now being considered "outcast" because we've chosen a diverse course.

Granted, they are good honest people who have had the ability to be honest with them selves stolen from them by the non stop repetition of the words"the truth " So many like my parents have been in for over thirty years and the JWs isn't just there "religion" they are there friends/family there entire social life and to walk away would mean losing all that and starting life all over,even after becoming aware that not only have they been "brain washed" they have been trained to brain wash others and would have to live with that guilt. They are thought that they are NOT to associate with ANY one who has not or will not be subjected to the " PROGRAMING " not even there own children / parents and Spouses, The wives have to OBEY there husbands even if the husband is not a JW, The men are the decision makers and the women are told that the Mans word is Final. To dis obey your husband is to disobey Jehovah's laws and if she keeps it up she will be kicked out or completely ignored by orders of the Elders until she has repented to there standards, I could go for 10 more pages but I think you heard enough to KNOW they are a CULT!!!

I have never been Jehovah's Witness myself but I also feel the need to talk about doctrines and issues because these people stubbornly call themselves Christians and they are not.

It is not so much for me that I want to even try to change minds of the brainwashed, but let other people to know what the Watchtower Society really is about.

God had put JWs into my heart for some reason, and when I explored their religion, I could not believe how anyone who call themselves Christians would support this organization.

Organization tells them that they are going to be persecuted, and that is right. And that gives followers of that religion the false impression tha the organization is right. Also false prophets can be persecuted!

As we know, for a person raised in the cult, it is pounded into your head that everything the jw's do is right and everyone else is lying and destined for destruction. No matter what you hear, the jw's are the only ones following god. So, take that coupled with the severe abuse so so so many suffer while being a witness and you get someone who is completely brainwashed into thinking that what is going on is correct. While in the grasp of the witnesses, you are taught to believe that everything they do is right, so that makes the mental, emotional, and many times physical abuse acceptable.

If someone is fortunate enough to break out of that prison, they have a duty to tell their story in the hopes that someone might hear it and not get sucked into the destructive cult the jw's are. At least that's how I feel about it.

Because they want people to see the real truth behind this organization rather than the saccharine sweet lies of it's public face. Perhaps we wish to save people from the trap of falsehood and help them on the road to salvation, because without accepting Jesus for themselves there is no salvation. The same might be said of ex Mormons. Jesus said that there would be many false prophets, if we did not point this out to people would we not be blood guilty? If you saw someone about to walk into the jaws of the beast would you not try to warn them? When I stand before the judgement seat and Jesus asks me how I showed love for my fellow man, what would he think if I said "well actually, I just let them carry on to their deaths and couldn't be bothered to try and save them", I want to be able to hold my head up and say "Lord, I did everything in my power and took every opportunity to rescue just one more lamb for you."

Pestie: I would agree with you about most of the individuals, however, the fact remains that the organisation is a hotbed of hypocrisy and lies. If life was so great as a JW, why are you an ex? Do yourself a favour, swallow your pride and ask God to have the Holy Spirit show you the truth, it might just surprise you. It did me. God bless and direct you.

i think that people who have found themselves enmeshed in a cult find it very damaging - especially those who were exposed to it as a child (and didn't have the social contacts or the personal experiences to extricate themselves)

that having been said many are good hearted people who just want to try and stop others suffering in the way that they were made to suffer

the good news is that leaving the cult (jws/ mormons/ christadelphians etc) doesn't mean that you are leaving God - in fact so many leave a cult often find that is where their own path with a faith in God begins in earnest

who in thier right minds would be on thier knees begging to be forgiven by tyrants? its like a battered wife begging to come back to her abuser because she feels she has nowhere else to go. i really doubt that you have been kicked out of the jw's. its sounds like some undercover scheme that the witnesses have to prevent people from discovering thier horrible truths

I think we're all an ex of some sort...lost until we repent and beleive in the God of the Bible. Once people discover the truth they want to tell others and warn them because they are deceived and downtrodden. They pull others out of the fire and care for them. Others are tired of seeing children used as sex toys for elders, priests, child brides.

Well to start I must say they are the most wonderful , honest and Genuine people you will ever meet.

They follow the bible to the letter and have a special freedom about them because the truth has set them free.

No other religion is a patch on how close they are to god and his son Jesus.

The reason many XJW's say bad things about them is because they know they are in the wrong and just wish to bring others down or prevent others from learning the truth or may be it's jealousy.

I have been out in the cold for a long time and realise there is nothing for me outside of the JW"s faith and hope to be one of them again soon.

To all who may hear bad things about them on this forum or anywhere else ,don't believe what you hear XJW's say if you have a question contact your local JW's you may be surprised how easy your questions can be answered from your own bible.

The only complaint I have is I would like the reinstatement prosess to be faster but I am sure things will fall into place at the corect time.
