McCanns: Kate and Gerry are spending £35000 a month on PR alone ?

We read that Kate and Gerry McCann are paying a Lisbon-based PR agency £35,000 a month to help with their 'Public Relations' in Portugal. I wonder who is paying for this nonsensical expense, Sir Richard or (more likely) the 'leave no stone unturned fund'.

Will you be donating more to Kate and Gerry to help them keep up with the expensive world of Public Relations ?

Haven't donated and won't be donating!! Why would I? It's not being spent to look for little Madeleine.

I never have a never will pay any money to the McCanns.

Its awful that the little one went missing, but no matter what you say, it is the parents fault. They are BOTH irresponsible parents, and don't deserve nothing. Someone not connected to the McCanns should take over the fund to help find the child and any other child who has gone missing, the parents should find their own funding to pay for legal matters, tax etc..... This all seems to me, the biggest con that ever was

Why do they care about 'winning over the hearts and minds of the Portuguese people?' Public opinion will not make the PJ lift the 'arguido' status. Madeleine should be coming before their precious images. They should be spending this money on raising awareness for their daughter, instead of wasting it on another unnecessary PR team.

it infuriates me to think that they are going on TV and pronouncing to the public in all news papers that they have had their daughter abducted and all of this yes it is a bad thing to have happened but they should never have left their kids alone in an apartment any way if i left my son on his own and the social found out i would have him taken off of me so why should they be any different to me i think the Portuguese police are right to charge them but they should charge them with neglecting their children

They are acting like celebrities, it is outrageous. I cannot think of any other person in their position who acted like them, not even Denise Bulger or Sarah Payne who were accused of courting the media too much came anywhere close to these two.

Never have, never will ... ever!

The amount of cash they have is enough to hire an army of private investigators, professionals who have the contacts. Yet they spend it on glitz and glam.

If they didn't f-up their PR with all the suspicious activities then they shouldn't have to spend that much either.

you know i paid a fiver into the fund a long time ago, i recon with intrest rates as they are at the moment the mccanns owe me £5.3p...NOW where do i start to get my hard earned money back from these neglectful people that lie to us all?.

i am quite enraged with this story actually. why are they so obsessed with their image. what does it matter to them if the portuguese or even the british dont like them. they are not pop stars on a comeback tour, they are suspects in the case of the disappearance of their daughter. they havent been charged yet so they dont need a defence, even if they want one, but one thing they really dont need is a public image campaign, they're not politians or slebs, looking to sell their next film

I haven't donated and I don't intend to. PR should be the last thing on their mind.

if they didn't appear to be so arrogant

if they behaved with a little humility

if they acted like caring parents

if they answered the police questions

    - they could save themselves a fortune
