When there is balance and freedom of mind?
There seems to people who are in balance, although extremely few. Is there a way to find balance in ones feeling and thinking? I don't want to hear anything about how I should be or which belief I should addaped. I'm real tired of all those religious concepts and new age images of love and harmony!

A truly balanced state of mind arises from the ability to accept whatever happens so as to think and move forward rather than suffer from negative emotions due to non-acceptance. The ability to accept with equanimity is hampered by our arrogant ego which insists on controlling it all and judging everything... judgment leads to the idea of favorable and unfavorable which is the root cause for a disturbed mind. We can not eliminate our ego altogether, but it is certainly possible to keep it reined in so as to minimize the arrogance or a feeling of too much self-importance. This requires us to keep reminding ourselves all the time as to after all, how small and minuscule we really are in the context of the huge universe and its vast space and timespan. (One reason why I decided to call myself "small")
Hope you find this meaningful and useful.

Question: Is "Balance," when I feel completely confident and have no questions or completely without doubt in my mind? Is this true freedom of mind?
BeiYin: For sure that's not what it is. Freedom of mind is when one is not identified with one's mind. You are in balance when you are the observer, when your awareness is in the point between the two moving parts of the balance: on one side there are the thoughts and on the other side there are the emotions, coming and going. The balance moves all the time up and down but the middle doesn't move at all. As long you are identified with your thoughts and emotions, you are not in 'balance', but the center is always in balance. The reactions: thoughts and emotions can't put the center out of balance. The quality of your feelings, being confident or not or if you have doubts in your mind or you have established concepts, doesn't really matter. This might cause that the balance gets stuck but I think you got the picture?
'Personality' or 'Ego' never really can be in balance because it exist by being identified with the content of ups and downs of the two sides and so constantly feeling good or bad...
Does this helps? If not, ask more details...
