What you need to do is actually have a kitten in front of you- showing them an advert won't work.

Why not suggest you go on a visit to the rescue centre so that you can 'just have a look' at the cats. Say you just love them so much you want to go and visit them, or do some work experience there and want to find out information.

There's bound to be one there that one of your parents feels sorry for- you've got them then. All you have to do is beg and plead.

If that doesn't work, persistance is key. Get a part time job or paper round to show you're willing to pay for the cat. Buy cat books, and put up cat posters. Do work experience in the shelter, and tell your parents they said you were such a natural it would be a DISASTER if you couldn't have one for yourself. Show them how much you know about cats.Tell them heartbreaking stories of the poor abandoned kitties.

These things have always worked for me!!

Wait for a little while longer and your parents may change their minds. Your other cat will be ok soon. Cats are very good at surviving. I do not know your mom and dad but I think they would have a very good reason indeed if they do not want another kitten. Try not to worry, your other cat needs all your love now.

  • Aww so sorry to hear about your poor cat, maybe the reason your parents don't want you to have another one is because they hated seeing you so upset and sad when your other one died,or perhaps they want to get you one for Christmas so they don't want you getting one first. It is great that you want to get a rescue kitten this shows lots of sense and a caring nature, i am thinking too if your parents are not intending getting you a kitten perhaps wait until after Christmas and ask again then it could be a kitten is a bit messy and with Christmas coming and people visiting they don't want the hassle of making sure there are no nasty surprises for visitors to find. Make lots of fuss of the cat you have give him/her lots of cuddles so it wont feel so lost without its playmate . i hope this helps xx

Owning a pet is a massive responsibility and requires a lot of careful thought before you buy one. Just talk it through with your parents and make sure you're looking after the other cat perfectly to show that you can be a responsible pet owner. I'm sure if you have looked after the others cats well and if you will take responsibility for the cat they'll eventually give in.

Good luck and I'm sorry about your loss,

your parents are correct another kitty may not be good for your other cat, right now,

sometimes it will only makes things worst, bringing in a different kitten may cause more trauma in the house they dont all get along nothing worst than having to get rid of a cat because they fight all the time, it would break your heart.

    when they would fight,

what i would suggest you do is spend a lot of special time with your kitty, give it lots of hugs and kisses, carry it around as much as he will let you. play with it as many times as you can, right now you and him are having a real hard time, loosing a kitty is the most terrible thing that could ever happen. so please just carry it around and cuddle with it as much as you can, somehow nature will bring you both closer together, remember he misses the kitten as much or more than you do. good luck in time im am sure all of us on this page will be happy to hear how well you and your cat are getting along,

    bless you and your kitty

First pout, then start up crying and if that would not artwork attempt slightly flailing. If all else fails bat your eyelashes. yet no severe. it quite is quite to blame of you to furnish to pay for the fees. Yeah maximum places will vaccinate the kitten themselves. in the journey that your mothers and fathers are worried with reference to the fixtures then furnish to get the cat declawed. procuring a cat container with a hood retains the scent down and make it an indoor cat. that would remedy the ineffective animals. so a great way as cost everywhere is diverse. yet i could assume approximately $2 hundred for the cat and each little thing you like.

did you pay for the cat ? food , vet bills etc...?

your best bet is to talk to them and ask why they don't want another.

I took on 3 kittens last year and sometimes wonder why?!

your parents would be the ones looking after the cat - even if you cleaned the litter tray or fed it every day... they still have to deal with it too. maybe theyve decided no more heart ache and leave it at the one you already have.

Just ask and find the reasons why.

    Good luck

Well, since you just lost one to a car accident....are they willing to allow the kitten to remain inside only? I wouldn't get another cat/kitten unless you're able to protect it against the fate of your previous one.

this is what i did, i got a job, and told my mom

I'm getting a kitten i will pay for the vet bills, i will pay for the cat food, i will pay for him to get fixed, i WILL take care of this kitten, my kitten, with NO help from you.

and she said OK after months of saying no.

    and I'm only 16

they prabobly dont want a kitten because of all the money they invested in the other cat you know to get it fixed, possibly ear mites or fleas, get checked

it adds up easly to 200$ in on visit. they dont want to spend that money again
