Free Kittens...?

Does anyone know of anyone who is giving away healthy kittens in the central Vermont area?

Update:

I currently have 2 cats. I know what the expenses are to care for them, I also know what the costs are related to my local adoption shelter and how the shelter is run, since I used to volunteer there. I am looking for a free kitten, for a reason. Please, if you could, stop directecting me to information I already have. Thank you!

Update 2:

Thank you Lindsay for insulting me and calling me 'shady' because I asked a question looking to find animals that needed homes and are not already in shelters, when it is possible that these animals would most likely be abandoned or who knows what becasue they are unwanted. Because you don't know me, you shouldn't make comments like this. I know all too well what happens to stray cats/dogs and I know how to search online and through the paper, etc., to find such animals. I was simply conducting a survey of the yahoo answers forum. I also never thought that anyone should need to 'research it' for what the users interests or points of views were ... that isn't really what the point of using this space is for, it is for the Question/Answer approach ... now isn't it?!

There is no such thing as a free kitten.

You will end up paying anywhere from 2-3 times more than a shelter donation to get your cat what they need to be healthy.

Millions of cats are put to sleep every year. Get a shelter kitty, it'll make you happier in the end.

Edit: Saw your response. One: Why do you want a free kitten? Sounds kind of shady to me. Two: Any research on the cat portion of this site would have shown you that people on here are generally pro-adoption. If you really have your heart set on a free kitten, look in the paper, check out community boards (grocery stores, laundry mats, etc.), or maybe try a site like Craig's list.

  • I know where I live it is more cost effective to buy a kitten from a shelter, because they are usually spayed already and have their shots. To get a free kitten then pay for all that usually costs you more. At least where I live...which is Vegas. Too bad you don't live near Vegas 'cause my cousin's cat had kittens...

try looking on petfinder.com, many times free kittens end up costing more than a shelter donation. Shelters usually have kittens up to date on their shots and have already dewormed and spayed/neutered before they adopt them out. Good luck.

  • I agree with Lindsey, get a shelter kitty instead. Some shelters have a time period on their pets, if they are there to long they kill them. Save a kitty and give it all the love and happiness it needs. It will give you 100% in return.

  • Google it!!
