What changed?
Years ago, and I'm talking decades and centuries ago, it was just a given that parents would give a toss about their children. They would look after them and make sure they were set for life.
These days, some people are having children purely because they can get a house off the council if they have dependents.
I know one girl who gets pregnant every time she decides she wants a bigger house. She doesn't care about her kids in the slightest.
What changed? One year people would die for their children, the next, people can't even be bothered to get a job to feed them. What the hell happened in between?

I wish I knew-I feel the same way! We planned for having children (both worked 7 days a week, moved to the country where we could afford to live and cut back on expenses) and I stay home with my boys. We would not have it any other way. It turns out they that both my toddler boys are developmentally delayed and need additional care that I probably would not have noticed had I been carting the kids off to day care (I know some families have no choice-I am not talking about those families). Thank God we planned for our family. I guess that is what family planning really means : )

I don't think back then there was Income Assistance. I know one girl has 3 kids under 4 years old. She just gave birth to her 3rd one and she is on welfare. She wants to stay on welfare. I wouldn't be surprised if she is pregnant again. I don't think there was any Gov't Assistance back then.

people just got more selfish, they used to have nothing, and even childbirth was a blessing to live through, now, with everything just given to people, they take it for granted.
