PC refuses to boot?
I just swapped video cards in my older PC for a 6600 O/C (6600GT just froze all the time, and I didnt want to make the huge jump down to an FX5200, which works just fine) and something went horribly wrong. I have an ASUS A7V133 KT133a with the 636B southbridge. I've removed video cards, RAM, expansion cards, etc. and nothing helps. Basically whenever I press the power button it turns on, gives me a nice 1 or 2 second beep, then shuts off. Power supply is brand new, and before the 6600 it worked flawlessly. When I pulled the 6600 back out I noticed it had a slight curve so I'm hoping I didnt kill my motherboard. Any help here? There's nothing about a single long beep in the manual.

Hello -
If I were working on your computer, from the descriptions you mention, I'd look at two possible things.
First off, you mention that the power supply is new. Well, you need to test it. Get yourself an ATX AC Power Supply Tester (got mine off eBay) for about $15. It'll test both 20 and 24 pin power supplies and let you know if it's faulty, dead, etc.
The other option is that as you have indicated, it could be a motherboard problem. There are "POST" diagnostic cards (power on self test) that you can plug in to your computer and it'll check your motherboard for you. Also bought mine off of eBay. Here's a link:

Hope this helps you. Good luck!
