you may remove/lift the stickers with the aid of a hair blower/dryer. apply the heat to the sticker and slowly peal it back. once the sticker is lifted, then you can remove any remaining residue with soap and water.

I'll second the hair dryer method, but once you have the sticker off often the glue is harder to remove than soap and water can handle. Continue to heat with the hair dryer then rub your finger across the residue to roll it into balls. These balls will be easy to pick off. There will still be residue left behind which is harder to see though. This residue (if you cannot see it) will become obvious by simply dumping water over the area. It will later make dirt that normally would not stick to a car stick. The next stop for your vehicle is the detail shop to have it professionally buffed. Once done there should be no residue left if the person doing the buffing did it right.

Hair dryer as mentioned before, spray a little WD-40 on a rag and take off the residue. You'll be amazed and easy it comes off. Wash area and put some wax on and buff. It will look great.
