Why don't christians use the final set of 10 commandments that were given to Moses in the Exodus story?
Exodus 20 is the first set of stone tablets that were smashed. Exodus 34 is the second set that were not smashed and were supposed to be the final set. Why are they different? And why do christians ignore the final version from exodus 34?
There are at least two different versions, exodus 20 talks about one, and exodus 34 another, and they are definitely not the same. Why don't christians seem to know this?

Do you seriously think most christians actually read the bible? Most of the ones I know Go to a church on Sunday swallow what the greedy person in the pulpit tells them and think that makes them holy. They do not know what the book tells them. They obey what the preacher tells them to obey.
I was once a christian until I sat down and read that book cover to cover WHAT CRAP! Believe in unicorns, stone disobedient sons, cannabilize your baby. And these are things a god demands of you?

No, in the beginning of the Israelites have been following those regulations already, and those regulations a protracted way precede Egypt, they are rapidly from the Sumerians. Now think of approximately Abraham, the founding father of Judaism. He replaced right into a Sumerian. Lived in Ur of the Chaldees, which replaced into in decrease Mesopotamia, which replaced into Sumer. top Mesopotamia replaced into Babylon. The regulations got here out of Sumer, the 1st actual prevalent civilization, and unfold from there to Babylon, to Egypt, etc. Abraham's relatives call has been got here across everywhere in the area, from Sumer to Babylon and previous, indicating that his relatives replaced into very useful, very prosperous, and probable had a prepare of being Sumerian clergymen. Jewish custom teaches that those regulations have been being accompanied already via the Israelites long earlier they have been written down at Mt. Sinai via Moses. And this would be because of the fact Abraham had before delivered them out from and surpassed down those regulations.

633 commandments, or 10 commandments = Jewish Law
Jesus is Law. He essentially replaced all Jewish Law. Followers no longer had to adhere to strict Laws because God sent his son. The only thing a follower now had to do was to believe in Jesus and his death as their salvation, thats it. Part of believing is of course living an upright moral lifestyle, but really if you believed in Jesus' teachings you were saved. Paul says that if you were Jewish before you became a believer, then it was still okay to practice Jewish law, but that it was no longer necessary.
As far as the commandment versions being different - Exodus was written by man for man about a belief system surrounding their God. Practice could have changed once theologies were more developed.

They were smashed, but they still apply. They are basic moral laws. It's a generalization to say that NO Christians follow these laws, I would like to say that I do. It was Moses who destroyed them, not God. Once God says something it's a done deal. Just because Moses lost his temper doesn't mean that God's law had to be rewritten....something tells me the laws in Ex. 34 would have come about, no matter what Moses did.

Hi, Ibushido:
Good question, but the laws are identical: The first written by God on sapphire, the second by God on the limestone Moses prepared. Moses wrote them again in Deuteronomy...
I did a survey of different Christian denominations on the Law.
Basically, the main-stream churches feel they need to keep the law, but the Sabbath was changed to Sunday.
Pentecostals believed the law was nailed to the cross--but "don't commit adultery with their wives."
Catholics feel the law is binding, and the Sabbath is observed in the Mass, which may be on Saturday night (Biblically Sunday).
But the Saints keep God's commandments, and they will do it forever: see Isaiah 66:24...
The "Man of Sin" changed God's law, and the Bible code tells who it is. See http://abiblecode.tripod.com/

Both sets were the same and the laws of God are given to show all people they are incapable of obeying them. The laws of God are to lead us to God. Jesus fulfilled the law perfectly and the only way a person can fulfil the law is through the power of the Holy Spirit. If we could keep the laws of God perfectly we not need a savior.

All people, including Christians ignore them because they think they were Suggestions, Not Commandments.
Kind of like, we suggest you dont let your kid watch an R rated movie, but go ahead if ya want.
Family Guy, American dad, you know, all the crap comes out into the open eventually, and so its said that God flooded the earth to rid the earth of all the crap.
He said he wont do it again....flood the earth again, but he said nothing of Fire, Earthquakes, plagues, etc.
Cant wait to see how he does it this time.

Probably because it really doesn't matter which set you go back. We know that was the old covenant and that there's a new covenant. No one can keep the commandments anyway. That wasn't their purpose. The commandment was given to expose sin and to show that we still need a Savior. Jesus was the only one who kept the law perfectly.

cause according to Ephesians 2:15 that laws are finshed.
