Ring query?

Well he fineally proposed! And the ring is gorgeous...half carat round cut diamond....sparkles sooooo much, with baguette diamonds either side. The setting is in white gold (or platinum, not sure) but the band's yellow gold.

I adore it!.....I usually wear white gold or 2 tone gold.

I have another lovely band he gave me that is yellow gold with white gold top and bottom. We both like 2 tone. The jeweller told him that if I prefered the ring in white gold it will cost twice as much to make a new one, simply because this ring is old stock an been marked down drastically. he said they can rhodium plate it to make it white. I dont know what to do, nor do I know if i like that idea. Is this worth doing? I was wondering if I should just leave it how it is, I do love it, an get a white gold wedding band, which will give me the two tone look, or get a two tone wedding band. I dont really want a plain yellow band. What do you thinK? Would it be odd having a white gold band beside the yellow?

Update:

I saw this ring months ago and adored it. It is the most beautiful ring I had ever seen. I cant believe he got it for me. I told him about it long ago, but didnt think he would go get it.

The reson it was marked down so much is it has actually been in the store for almost 5 years! Meant for me I think!

Personally I would like to leave it how it is but really want a white gold wedding band....just dont know if it would look odd.

I would leave it the way it is, and just get the white gold wedding band. If you have them coat (dip) it in rhodium, you have to have it re-dipped every now and again. This can get pretty expensive over time. Plus, if you decide to have your rings soldered together, then your white gold band would be dipped, too. I like the idea of the white gold wedding band. Very unusual!

    Congrats on your upcoming nuptials!

There are two-toned wedding bands and enhancers. Shop around for something that matches your ring. It sounds lovely, by the way!

If you like two-toned gold, then go for the white gold band!

If you love it, then keep it the way it is. It does sound like it's been waiting for you! I think a two tone band would look just fine with it.

Hunny, don't change it, leave it, your man listened to you and got you the ring you really wanted, Hunny give that man a big wet kiss and let him know how much you love him, why change something you adored, who cares how much he paid for it. He thought about you and what you wanted, the ring was there because it was fate, and Hunny we girls don't mess with fate. No it wouldn't be odd if that what you like, put what ever you want with it. Did I tell you to kiss that man and tell him how much you love him..

If you like it, leave it alone! Who cares what anyone else thinks? It's none of their buisness and I'm sure they won't say anything or even think anything of it. Do whatever you want! Thats between you and your fiancee!
